Knife sharpening at the Coit Road Farmers Market. Live during market hours. Drop off / Pick up service available.
It's gratifying when you sharpen people's knives and they come back the following week and show their bandaids.
Bring a kayak if you want to get to the knife display. Lol
This stand came with our house. It was too nice to throw away so it's just been bouncing around for years. I don't think we ever figured out what it was really for. But now that the legs have broken off my little Weber it finally has a good solid purpose. I sure am glad I saved that for 29 years. LOL
We have a small kitchen floor at the market that needs a coat of paint. I believe the room is about 15 x20 ft. If anybody would be interested in volunteering that would be great or if anybody would like to stop by the market and quote a price on doing it that would be great as well.
I asked myself, if I happened past a knife shop and saw a kitchen hatchet would I feel the need to buy one?
And the answer was yes so now I have these neat little hatchets for sale.
I gave up public appearances when I quit drinking because there is no good replacement for alcohol when it comes to crushing anxiety. But if you miss me saying "umm" and "exactly" way too many times on the airwaves I'm going to be on WCSB 89.3fm tomorrow at noon.
Now that we are open on Tuesday evenings for the after-work crowd Tuesdays are Bring Your Knives to Work Day. That way you can stop by the market on your way home and have me sharpen them while you shop.

I didn't need another ukelele. I almost never play a ukelele. But this old Kay was stalking my brain so I went and fetched today. Will live by the bed.
I chose the odd Swedish word to name my business because my earliest memory of kitchen knives is my grandmother's old carbon steel knives. We laughed at them because we thought she was too cheap to buy 'nice' knives. Now I sharpen those 'nice' knives while I fail to sell people on old carbon steel knives.
Sounds 'bout right. Lol
When I was selling spices a lot of people didn't appreciate my smart ass approach. People would ask "what's good for chicken" and I would just splay my arms and say "everything". I was never good at telling people what to buy. I was more interested in talking to them and letting them figure it out. Not really a good business practice if you're trying to make money. Most people just want you to tell them what to buy.
When I started the knife gig I really didn't want to end up with the same way. It took a few years of having people ask me "what's good for chicken" before the smart-ass became a staple part of my sales. Now I'm concerned about the next time somebody tells me that they need a knife that's good for vegetables and meat.
Sorry. 😂
In my former life as a guitar repairman I learned how to repair many other musical instruments. But I don't think proper tuning of a banjo head was ever something I learned. (Or if I did I have long since forgotten. 😂) I sure hope YouTube can walk me through this one.
Still feel like s**t. Made my way up to the market to drop some s**t off and picked up a couple of delicious subs from Messina Pizza and Bakery and now I'm back home to continue my feeling like s**t.
After over 4 years of perfect market attendance since my hospital stay I'm going to miss this first market of the year today. This cold is an ass-kicker.

Sounds like one of those fake sci-fi years I read as a child.

The least successful push for a holiday in U.S. history continues. Eight years, 19 members. But slow and steady wins the race and therefore the race continues. Lol
Hashtag 'edging' 😂
We're doing a craft fair this weekend along with the regular farmers market. Stop by this evening and check it out. There will be food and stuff too.
This post is entirely about the obvious.
The last time I created recorded music was 20 years ago on my Vestax 4-track cassette.
Things are much easier now.
I need to know if anybody else out there is dedicated to the Turkey Day Marathon.
Darla and the weird gas can guinstrument I'm cobbling together. Seems like they belong together.
You know old man chilly when in October he breaks out Arthur Treeshirt.

Once in awhile you have to go to a place where you are met at the counter by an old dude who writes your order on one of those green "guest check" pads. Then he walks three feet away and refers to the pad as he gets your order together even if that order is only "1 It. Lf." and then, if there's more than one item, writes the totals out before beginning his long addition. Then he proceeds to the tax table taped to the counter with yellowed and peeling packing tape, drawing his finger down until he finds the number he needs to complete his math. A very wholesome, satisfying transaction that is good for your soul.
Oooooooo... Exciting knife sharpening video. lol
