Home and Community Based Services Rates in Ohio
The home and community-based services direct-care workforce has a turnover rate of 51.3%, but increased reimbursement rates in the #OH operating budget would help recruit more workers enabling increased access for all of us as we age. #investinhomecare #HCBS

Support Increased Reimbursement Rates for HCBS
The state is in a timely position to support home and community-based services through increased reimbursement rates in the operating budget. A reasonable investment now would help reduce the current workforce turnover rate, which is 51.3% for direct-care workers. It would also help recruit more people to the workforce, enabling increased access for all of us as we age. Ohioans are essentially on a waiting list for in-home services because the historical lack of investment has created a statewide workforce shortage. Investment in home and community-based care is an investment in people. The time to act is now!

Home and community-based services provide all of us with the opportunity to live independently with a stable cost of care. HCBS is proven to reduce overall healthcare costs by supporting secure community conditions, healthy living, and access to quality care.
