During our last session, we learned how to break down samples and put them together into patterns to make a track. Stay tuned to hear the music that we make together during the culmination of the program on April 30.
The Arts for Resilience in Our Community program is designed to connect young adults with professional artists to foster confidence, build resilience, and increase social and community connectedness.

Today, during our fourth session of the Arts for Resilience in Our Community program, we started selecting and breaking down music samples to organize into patterns.
Next up is putting together full tracks in preparation for our live performance.

What started as a personal outlet for Executive Director has grown into CollectivExpress, a powerful force of community empowerment throughout northeast Ohio.
Mentorship is perhaps the most important ingredient in helping others discover their voice and realize their dreams. All too often, someone with an organic passion or talent reaches a dead end in their development and quits due to the lack of a support network.
That’s exactly what’s being built through the Arts for Resilience in Our Community program - mentorship, support, community and some incredible music.

Our Story
Greetings friends, family & fellow humanitarians,
My name’s Josiah Britt. I’m a husband, father, poet, civil servant, entrepreneur, & founding director of CollectivExpress. Together, with my amazing wife Chelsea, we are on a mission to reimagine the power of arts & culture as an instrument to encourage, educate & entertain marginalized people groups in Cleveland, Ohio.
CollectivExpress is a free, socially-conscious, cultural program that provides musical performances, art projects, food, books & more to residents of low-income communities. We hold these outreaches in visible public spaces & community centers for easy access. The atmosphere at our events is like a festival & town hall meeting wrapped into one. Everyone has a great time & has meaningful dialog about pressing issues that effect the community. We provide a safe & fun environment for all ages, but furthermore, our goal is to mobilize attendees in new & powerful ways.
