Self evaluating has been a daily practice of mine for years. Evaluating my heart, my intentions, my relationships, my goals, my call, my mental and physical health, my progress or a lack there of, my faith, I even evaluate every conversation I had or encounter I had that day before going to bed each night. Doing this has put me in positions where I’ve had to own my wrongs and apologize, have tough conversations with people, etc. I’m sharing this publicly because without self evaluating I’d be the same man I was 20 years ago. My relationship with the Holy Spirit is essential to my growth and development. I’ve realized that a large amount of believers don’t do this and get caught up in a lifestyle of Instant replays where the absence of trials and pressure communicates success. Then theirs the people who do everything in and of their own strength under the guise of depending on God. I’ve been there and I know first hand the dangers that thinking can bring. I want to encourage you today to do a thorough self evaluation of yourself and allow the Holy Spirit to convict you of areas of your life that consist of more of you than Jesus! Philippians 4:13 hit different when you truly understand that it means trusting, relying, and depending on who Jesus is and what He’s done. ⚓️⚓️⚓️
