As a farmer, I get caught up in the day-to-day tasks of tending to my hens and striving to raise a great quality product, but it’s important to take a step back and reflect on the bigger picture. I took a mini road trip to @feedmillatcoyotecreek where they sell 100% USDA certified organic feed. During the drive, I had a lot of time to think and ask myself, “Why am I really doing this?” The answer, for me, is simple: without farmers, there’s no food, and without food, there won’t be a future. I am very passionate about organic permaculture farming, I realize that I am not just farming for myself, but for future generations to be able to continue and thrive. By providing wholesome, organic food to our communities, we are not only nourishing bodies, but also cultivating a sustainable future. So the next time you’re knee-deep in the daily grind of farming or whatever task you do, take a moment to reflect on the larger purpose of your work.
