Stacia Schaefer Design
Fiber and ceramic art
This piece called Summer Tidepool was inspired by a smaller one that I kept for myself. It features several types of my handmade ceramic beads. See it at my current show at Central Bank.
I included several pieces in my show at Central Bank that focus on a single knot. I love how the scale emphasizes both the complexity and simplicity of each. Visit the show at 720 E. Broadway or online at ColumbiaArtLeague.org.

My Etsy shop is opening back up Saturday, September 2!
You have all been so patient since I put the shop on hold back in April. I’ve had many sweet messages, some persistent and loyal customers and some just discovering my work. I appreciate all of you! I’m working on inventory and listings and getting things started back up again. More info coming this week as I get ready.
I’m giving an artist talk/demo on Wednesday, August 2, in conjunction with the show Where We Are at the Montminy Gallery. Join me to learn about my process and inspirations. 😀
TOMORROW! I’m getting super excited for the opening of “Where We Are” at the Montminy Gallery. Hope to see you there!!
July 27, 5-7 pm

I made these beads with micaceous clay, typically used in Native American pottery and found in the southwestern U.S. The glitter comes from the bits of mica in it. Because of its low firing temperature, Jeff was able to fire these pieces in his living room fireplace last spring! This piece can be found in my show opening tomorrow at the Montminy Gallery.
Missouri friends: my work is about to be in an art show! It is a collaboration with two other extremely talented artists, Jenny McGee and Marilyn Cummins, called Where We Are, at the Montminy Gallery in Columbia. These are pieces I’ve been working on for the last 6 months. They feature different sides to my work and several pieces incorporate color like I never have before. I’m excited for you to see them! The show will be up through September 16, but please join us for the opening reception on July 27, from 5-7 pm. ❤️
