Hair is hair. The building blocks of human hair are the same, no matter what size coils are growing out of your crown. And these building blocks need the same things to be healthy--the right moisture/protein balance, gentle handling, and loving patience. So let's stop typecasting ourselves and others with numbers and letters. Your hair will tell you what it needs, and I can help you decipher your hair's language. My natural hair coaching links are in my bio.
Here is a coily hair PSA: Getting back to fundamentals is how you make it softer. It's how you retain length. It's how you make it more manageable. It's how you let it express itself. So build a simple regime incorporating these four things. It's not about products--it's about what you DO on a regular basis.

This is part of ourselves that we can learn to love and live with, by letting it exist amidst self-defining obstacles like doubt and insecurity. Life really does imitate nature.

Love her and she'll love you back.
This is what makes me sick. Black women shaming one of our own for their hair choices. I think this is a reflection of the accuser’s insecurities about themselves. Can we please move away from this diatribe of hair hate in 2023? Besides, is the GOAT of gymnastics and is a super hero that all young girls can look up to. I couldn’t be happier for her in this moment. And yes, happiness doesn’t reside in cemented-flat edges or a perfectly coiffed ponytail.

You can air dry your wash & go...I don't always have time to sit under the dryer and I'm guessing many of you don't either. But here are some tips that help the process: (1) use products that appear clear (not white) in your hair when wet. Mix a small amount in the palm of your hand. Do they make a lumpy white mess? then it's not a good combo. (2) Low humidity air is best (3) doing your wash & go early in the day is best so it has all day to dry. (4) a little dampness is okay at night; make sure to wear a bonnet. Follow me for more tips!
