Meet Marcy Ellis!
Marcy is an Intake Coordinator at Basecamp East. Marcy was asked a few questions in preparation for this post:
What energizes you at work?
Helping others and feeling like what I do is valuable- makes a difference to those I work with and for.
What is the best compliment you have ever received?
Being told I was someone's favorite because when I spoke with them, they felt that I saw them as a person and could tell I cared about them.
What led you to this specific career?
I've enjoyed being support in a health care environment. I like to feel I'm helping others in a significant way.
What is your favorite family tradition?
Family dinners for any reason- lots of food, talk, and laughter; walks and card games or just chilling and watching a movie together.
What is the best way you have balanced your work life or home life?
I actually schedule my self-care in my daily/weekly planner - no "I don't have time to..." I make time for me because I love myself fiercely.
What advice would you give someone who is considering a career in this field?
Get your foot in the door wherever you can, be consistent, and maintain a teachable/coachable attitude throughout your journey.
What is something about yourself that surprises people?
I have a LOT more sass and spice than meets the eye. I'm also very empathetic/intuitive so I can often see things others skate by.
Join us in Recognizing Marcy and the work she does to make Basecamp a place where patients feel safe, loved and supported. Thank you Marcy!
