Veterans Day began as a way to commemorate the end of the first World War. Every year on November 11, the United States of America pauses to celebrate and honor the brave people who have proudly served their country as part of the Armed Forces. Friday!!!! An excellent way to end the week with a little teamwork to manage a challenging day of installing a new Owens Corning Roofing system. Taking this first phase of insurance restoration work off the to-do-list and putting it in the to-done. Next up, new siding and gutters. This one, “Hail of a Story”! Early this year in Central and Southeastern Ohio there were some small localized hail events causing both minor and significant property damage. Each hail event is different every time they happen. The size, shape, and density can be different and the corresponding weather conditions can be different as well. Both general contractors, like ourselves, and insurance carriers look at the total “overall story” when collecting evidence of the storm and the property damage it may or may not have caused. A shout out to our Project Manager Curtis Vaughan III for helping tell this homeowner’s story and restoring their home and protecting its value. Has your roof been inspected lately?

A friend of ours approached us over the summer after sustaining wind damage to their dated roof looking for help. We pride ourselves in constantly learning new industry standards and techniques with helping homeowners restore their homes when dealing with a sudden loss and filling a claim with their insurance carrier. But in our honest opinion sometimes it is not worth fighting over a year with a carrier when the likely outcome is the claim being denied given the nature of the situation. He then decided to invest in and protect his home with this project. We are happy to help our friend restore and upgrade his home’s roofing system so that he can have peace of mind this winter and in the years to come.

Today we are proud to provide an update on our progress in a pilot effort to deconstruct shingles and use the materials to create new shingles with recycled content. ♻️

We have achieved a milestone in this pilot work by successfully extracting asphalt, filler, and granulates from waste shingles with positive initial results. The next step in our pilot program is plant trials, where we will develop and test prototype shingles.
