Rapunzel's The Long Hair Salon

It is very rare that you’ll see me(Jaime) post about a detangling service. I try to respect what my clients have experienced and do not ask for pictures. But this sweet young gal Lilyonna was one who needed to be captured. She was so nervous and scared for me to begin detangling her matted hair. Dave and I worked for well over 2 hours total. We had times of almost tears because it definitely hurts and times of joy when we knew her hair would be saved. This girl still has tons of hair, and at only 6 I can only imagine how incredible her hair will be in the future. I am so thankful that in the end, she connected with and trusted us. We hope to see her again sometime.

Brynn has been working on the health of her hair. Over the past year we’ve reduced the split ends with regular dustings, helped the uneven sides grow, and learned better ways to care for our hair. She recently received her very first protein treatment and we are loving the results. Here’s to longer, stronger and happier hair! Thank you so much to Brynn and her lovely mom(not pictured)

Gabby came to us about a year ago looking for some extra attention to her hair to help grow out just a bit more for donation. She had previously been growing and donating in her life, but never had a place to help her consistently in between. With regular dustings and treatments, she was able to donate just shy of 20 inches of hair. She and I both were absolutely delighted to see how wonderful her flip length hair looked on roller set after treatment. Now she has fun bouncy hair to start growing out again. We want to give a shout-out to the lovely Amy. She has committed to always visiting us when she attends a work conference that comes to Columbus every year. She travels all the way from California. She has been a Rapunzel’s client since 1998 and she has the hair to prove it. How beautiful 🤩

Laura visited us for treatment and trim because she had never received a professional treatment service before, and it had been over 10 years since her previous trim(besides the occasional 1/2 inch she would trim off herself). She was in town working the Lion King production and figured she’d also get some nice TLC. She was delighted to spend the day with us, since as you can see she has a lot of hair. Molly has had long hair for most of her life. She previously was going to a long hair salon near Cleveland that sadly closed down during the pandemic. She was thrilled to know another salon not too far from her also practiced George Michael long hair care. Now, ever since 2020, she has been regularly visiting us here at Rapunzel’s. She recently received her first treatment service and we had to share the incredible results. How stunning and awesome is she? Thank you Molly for your continued support and friendship. We can’t wait for more!

Many of you might recognize Chelsea and her gorgeous hair, that’s because we can’t get enough of her! With regular dustings and treatments, she is able to continue to have such amazing hair.

Ellen came to us after the pandemic, with grown out bleached highlights and the hope to grow her hair long again. After consistent trims, treatments and semi permanent color to even things out, we were able to achieve this. Once her hair was healthy enough, we decided to have some fun and give Ellen a bright face framing color without using bleach, but instead high lift color. We know this color is not for everyone, but please enjoy photos of her without a doubt, incredible hair!

Our client Freve inquired about receiving a color service that would not require too much maintenance and or cause any more damage to her hair, but give her hair a refresh. After consultation, we decided to use a semi permanent color and apply to her hair as a highlight and ombré look. This way she can grow the color out as long as she would like, and stop by for a trim and retouch when her schedule allows it. We have shared Brooke’s hair a few times, but it truly is so wonderful to work with! She decided to take a break from Keratin Treatments for almost a year and only do protein treatments, but once summer started she was ready for smooth hair. She is able to style her hair easier with less frizz, curl, and time needed after her Keratin Treatment. Here are photos of before, after applying and blow drying, and then flat ironing. Ahisa is an absolute beauty and sweetheart. She and her mom both enjoy getting their hair treated with us! Ahisa found us about a year ago after many visits to salons who were unable to provide her services for the amount of hair she has, and or for an unreasonable amount of money and time. We absolutely understand this, and we were happy to help get her back on track for growing and improving her incredible hair. Now she receives regular dustings and treatments. We were so thankful to see April last night. She is most definitely the longest hair client we see somewhat regularly(Although unfortunately because of the pandemic we had not seen her since Jan 2020) Her first visit to Rapunzel’s was in 2010. She had been trimming the ends to tailbone length somewhat regularly. She decided to really commit to growing her hair and thought about growing to the floor. She has absolutely reached that goal and is past the floor. April’s hair measures at 80 1/2 inches long. She showed us a very neat trick on how she secures her hair safely to use the bathroom or to just keep it clean and safe without pulling up too tight. I will post a video of her doing this next! It’s awesome!

Jane has had long hair for many years and before the pandemic she was visiting a long hair salon in Fairview Park, OH. Unfortunately they no longer take clients, so Jane decided to reach out to us. We are so thankful to be trusted with such gorgeous hair and to have met such a wonderful woman. Jane has even roped in her best friend Dianna to start growing her hair as well.

Mary Beth and Kate recently visited the salon from Arizona. They both were so excited for their dustings. Before having children, Mary Beth lived in Ohio and was a regular client. It is an honor to work with both her and her daughter. They both have wonderful hair. Mary Beth also received semi permanent color and loves it.

We absolutely love when Valerie comes to visit us and we throughly enjoy working with her extremely thick and incredibly nice hair. She spends almost all day at the salon receiving a treatment and dusting. Protein is what leaves the hair silky and soft, and there’s definitely no shortage of that in Valerie’s hair when she leaves! Thank you for always supporting us, Valerie!

Janet previously wore a very short styled haircut and once the pandemic hit she decided to grow it out. She came to us in June for some advice and tips on growing out her layered and uneven hair. Today, I (Jaime) had the pleasure of giving her a nice crisp flip to even out the layers. She was so excited! I recommended to Janet, as well as to others, that to maintain the hair we must dust the hair every 3 months. Especially in Janet’s case where she went a very long time without a trim.

In April, we were honored to host not only our beautiful client Jennifer, but her bridal party. We gave these gorgeous ladies some nice hair, a place to get ready and prepared for the special day and enjoyed many laughs with them
They also had makeup done by Katilyn Boyer Makeup Artistry while at the salon.

Ella had not received a hair trim in many years. She was very unsure about even meeting us. After a thorough consult and explanation of how we care for the hair, she finally agreed to trimming years of damage and split ends off of her hair. Although we did have to take a good bit of hair off, she will grow her hair back out with the correct hair care knowledge. She will also continue to visit us regularly for dustings every 3 months.

Nicole has absolutely beautiful hair and we have been achieving smooth, straight and manageable hair with a Kertain treatment. This reduces 80% of wave and 80% of frizz.

Recently I (Jaime) was able to have the pleasure of working with this beautiful client of ours long hair. She previously had longer hair, trimmed a good bit and is now growing back to the longer length. She travels all the way from Colorado to visit us and we cannot be more grateful. Thank you Antonia for trusting us with your gorgeous locks. Can’t wait to see you again!

Not only do we work with long hair, we love to help many with unfortunate damage situations to their hair. This beautiful woman Nikki, has experienced an extreme amount of hair loss and damage from Natural Beaded Row Extensions. She came to us looking to purchase a Halo Couture Extension and understand more about the damage done to her hair. With a simple consult we explained to her that these extensions are basically damage free. They come in many different lengths, hair depths and colors. We were able to fit her with one that matched perfectly. She also mentioned that her color in this picture was about to be refreshed and looked seamless after she refreshed it. Next steps include regular dustings to help mend this beautiful gals hair.

Kelsey decided it was time for a change. She asked Dave to trim about half of her hair off. She had been growing for awhile, but was ready for something new. We love seeing how happy she is with her final trim! Thanks Kelsey!

Kathryn has not had many great salon experiences previously. She has an incredible amount of thick, wavy, and silky hair. This was her second dusting experience and her first treatment experience(pictures show her hair from a roller set). She left raving about how excited she was about her hair and how thankful she was to be understood at the hair salon. She trusts us with her hair and she is incredibly happy to have found someone to help her invest in her long hair. We cannot wait to see you again Kathryn! Thank you!

Recently Alyssa wanted to change her color to something more vibrant and bright. She also was very excited to have a protein treatment and trim. Her has never looked better!
