I have been so full of gratitude lately.
It feels like everything is always working out for me 🥰
Maybe it’s because every day kinda feels like a party during my birthday month 😂☀️ ♌️✨
But it didn’t always used to be that way…
I used to be very serious about most things, especially my weight, my health and my fitness.
That took me down a lot of rabbit holes that didn’t serve me. (I.e. disordered eating, body dysmorphia, workout addiction etc.)
I realized that I could be in alignment without crushing the fun out of everything
So I learned how to make fitness part of my day to day without giving in to the pressures of society or pop culture

It was much simpler than I expected tbh- once I moved past my inner protection mechanisms.

I once had a (well meaning) therapist who told me that meditation was really positive and helpful, but she wouldn’t suggest it for her ADHD clients.
She said it almost never worked for them.
I think there’s nuance here- did it “not work” for them? Or did they not know how to make it work for them? 🤷♀️
Meditation is a HUGE part of my life and it helps me very much

We are a collective of people who are so distracted that we have to relearn how to listen to our own bodies.
We forget to eat, or drink water, or even use the restroom.
We ignore hunger cues, or tiredness and fatigue to “push through”
At what cost?
Our bodies are responding but we aren’t hearing them.
We are so distracted that silence feels threatening
We distract ourselves to the point of losing discernment
What’s distraction? And what is nourishment?
What is solitude? And what is isolation?
What is a want? What is a need?
We are losing track of what is important and necessary to us because our attention has been made into a commodity.
We give our attention away to social media (the irony is not lost on me), streaming services, video games, movies, the list goes on and on.
It’s easier to let others tell us what we want and need…
But it’s not nourishing or fulfilling us anymore
And this collective is starting to step back into their own personal power
It’s beautiful to watch ❤️

I renewed a 6 month container with one of my wonderful clients last week
And I want to brag on her for a sec 🥳
She reported that she:
✨ is 18 pounds lighter
✨ feeling big reduction in inflammation
✨ reduction in joint pain
✨ reduced muscle tension (neck, hips, back)

✨ and a huge reduction in her auto immune symptoms 🥳

I had a coffee date with an old friend and potential client of mine recently ☕️
(I asked her permission to share this)
It felt comfortable, honest and promising
We got to the part of the discussion about the cost of investment and I started to sense tension
I gently reminded her that mutual benefit is at the core of my business.
That means: I only work with folks who are financially comfortable with making the investment- because it doesn’t make sense to “chop off your arm to heal your broken foot”
My goofy analogy felt right though
Because it doesn’t make sense to make an inherently deregulating choice (choosing to spend more than is safe to spend) in order to feel more regulated in your body through my coaching 🤷♀️
She said something that gave me pause:
She said “but I know that you’re worth it! Working with you will be worth it”
I thought to myself “those are two different things.”
I told her that my worth was not the point here- what I charge is not related to my worth
Not even close!
Making choices out of agency means that you have choices and the authority in your own life to make them based on your own boundaries, needs and desires
Part of the decision does not have to hinge on anyone’s worth.
It can all be about alignment and compatibility and desire.
We are inherently worthy beings ❤️
We are worthy because we are alive
It’s not a matter of worth. It’s a matter of alignment.
Our egos love to make things personal (oh my GOD this used to hurt my feelings so bad 😆)
But the truth is, things are rarely personal if ever.
Someone’s financial ability to invest with me has NOTHING to do with their worth or mine.
Phew. That’s when the energy softened again.

Story time: Client Rupture & Repair
It’s a story about when something wasn’t working 😅
Like *really* wasn’t working. 🤦🏼♀️
Basically I missed the mark by a wide margin, and my coaching strategy was NOT effective this client.
(I’ve asked her permission to share this)
I was trying out some new methods and strategies
We had been working together for 3-4 weeks at this point… and they weren’t moving the needle 🤷♀️
This client is wonderfully sensitive and kind and acutely aware of how her words and actions can affect people
(Like most of my clients)
So speaking up for herself and asking for a change felt SCARY
She told me “I’m not sure if this is the kind of support I need right now”
I felt a pit in my stomach
She confessed that she almost didn’t say anything and that she would have ghosted in the past…
But this time she felt the courage to say something
I told her that I heard her and that I would of course honor her decision to discontinue sessions if she wanted…
And then I asked her if she would be open to me offering a new strategy that might work better for her
I held my breath, feeling the guilt and shame wash over me.
She said yes.
She trusted me to meet her where she was.
We spoke in detail about what exactly wasn’t working and why
We revamped everything, none of it was personal.
I was actually THRILLED that she said something.
That means that she respected herself to ask for what she deserved!
It means that she gave me an opportunity to make things right for her ❤️
Two weeks later and she mentioned to me that she feels “much more at ease” in our coaching relationship afterwards
An unexpected blessing ❤️
We discussed the importance of rupture and repair and how it can bring clarity and depth to relationships.
It was beautiful 🥰
If my ego was running the show I would NEVER have shared this with y’all lol
But it’s not.
One core pillar of my coaching program is to build agency and self advocacy
This builds self esteem, self respect, and self trust allll at the same time.
Even if it means they have some hard things to say to me 😆
So that’s why I’m celebrating the time when I got it wrong and I was given the opportunity to set things right.
Speak up and use your voice friends, it can get you what you want out of life. (If you wanna 😁)❤️

I learned the difference between empathy and compassion recently-
And you might not like it at first.
Empathy is having the emotional sensitivity to pick up on what someone else is feeling and to feel it WITH them
(Different than sympathy- which is feeling bad FOR someone)
We like to think empathy is a noble quality, and to some extent it is, but it can also keep us stuck.
Compassion is empathy, and adding the additional step of taking ACTION to improve the situation…
Even if that action is something that the other person doesn’t necessarily want or like 😅
Because that action would definitely improve their situation or their life in some way.
In a book I’m reading (I’ll cite at the end) they say empathy is telling someone who broke their leg “I can’t imagine how much pain you must be in”
And compassion is the surgeon who operates on their broken leg- even though it will hurt.
Even though this person might not want or like the idea of surgery- they consent to it
Why? They know that having a properly healed leg will benefit them and improve their life.
I bring this up because growth and transformation are UNCOMFORTABLE AF sometimes! 😝
But it’s worse to sit in our own misery.
That old adage “change what you cannot accept or accept what you cannot change” is rooted in compassion.
One of my mentors Mary McCarthy calls it “tough empathy” because she helps clients to do what is neccesary to experience growth and success in their businesses
I’m here to help you do uncomfortable things if it means you can unlock your next level of wellbeing.
I’m here to coach you through your emotions with empathy, and to offer you gentle accountability.
I would be failing my clients if I didn’t 🤷♀️
Will I yell at you? No
Will I lovingly and regularly come back to evaluate your own goals, behaviors, and mindsets? Ohhh yes.
And you know what? You’ll probably hate it at first
But you’ll love it once you realize how much easier it was to rip off the bandaid 🩹 and jump into your new life.
I freaking love my job and I am so proud to be a compassionate person with the resources and privilege to offer support to others.
I’ve had two coaching calls today already and I am absolutely floating afterwards.

You might not wanna hear this but 👇🏼
Healthy bodies WANT to move, it’s not a process of negotiation 🤷♀️ 👏🏼 🏃🏼
If you feel lethargic and tired most of the time, that is not normal.
And hey- no shade! It just doesn’t have to be that way.
I’ve been all over the spectrum- from couch potato in an anxiety spiral to your local kickboxing coach teaching 12 classes per week.
I’ve experienced the joys of ADHD, the high strung waves of anxiety, and the lows of depression and chronic burnout.
As a recovering people pleaser, I can tell you that if it was “the thing to do” I probably did it.
(Experimenting with extremes is something I enjoy lol)
You can take it from me- none of those options made my body feel how I wanted it to 😅
I didn’t crave movement until I began to nurture my body and care for my nervous system
When I acted from a place from compassion and self respect my body began to heal
And I didn’t have to force myself into the gym anymore
I decided to go on walks because I CRAVED them
I went to yoga because I LOVED IT
I moved my body because it asked me to
You can get there too 🙂

“Rest is lazy and not productive”
I’m not sure which factory owner during the Industrial Revolution started this propaganda, but I’d like to end it please. 🏭 😝
When I have PREGNANT clients coming to me, worried that they aren’t being productive enough, feeling guilty about resting… we have an issue folks.
Rest is NOT lazy or “unproductive” it’s an absolute requirement for ALL human bodies to function 😅
That isn’t a flashy, broad, blanket statement- it’s backed by scientific evidence. Lots of it.
The conversation of balance aside- because yes, we can have too little physical activity in our lives, and yes that can have adverse affects on our health…
But that’s not what I’m talking about.
Im talking about all of the folks who don’t EVER allow themselves to truly rest.
Shut off their problem solving brains
Dim the lights and turn down the sound and rest
Folks who don’t offer themselves permission to release control for a moment because they fear being judged as lazy or irresponsible.
This is not a healthy lifestyle and it’s harming us as individuals and within our interpersonal relationships.
Rest isn’t something we have to earn- it’s our birth right.
We are supposed to have moments of ebb and flow! 🌊
We are designed to rest and to operate within a capacity that doesn’t burn us out
“Giving 110%” isnt feasible or realistic and while it might sound nice?
There are a whole lot of (neurodivergent) folks out there who didn’t realize that was just a figure of speech.
And we’re taking it 110% literally. And burning TF out.
So this is my rant about how rest is important and healthy and normal and good.
It doesn’t make you a bad person for choosing to rest 🙂
In fact, I’ve begun to measure my quality of life based on balance.
It’s anti hustle culture, but WOW you should see how much more I get done as a result 🥰

Balance is a verb, not a noun.
we like to think it's something we can do once and forget about...
but it's rarely that straight forward.
It's an active process of shifting and adjusting to new conditions
focusing inward to find our equilibrium
discerning the elements that work and don't work
the things to keep and the ones to ditch.
The odds are that your original goals are going to look NOTHING like the goals you have 6 months in...
and that's completely okay :)
It's pretty common actually.
You might start out wanting to lose body fat or to feel more energized
and end up falling in LOVE with a new sport or skill...
there's nothing that makes me smile bigger than watching a client find
juuuust enough structure that they can find balance, and then PLAY
we like to learn the rules so we can break them in a way that suits us
and i'm ALL about it lol
whatever suits your fancy, whether that's yoga or rock climbing, or anything in between...
I'm here to help you maximize your joy, ease, and wellness along the way
because you deserve to feel at ease in your body :)
I've helped hundreds of folks do it before, and I can't imagine stopping anytime soon
because it lights me UP to watch my clients transform into their own best version
