A cracking collaborative effort between the Bowmore Distillery and Aston Martin – the first release in the Masters’ Selection series! This 21 year old single malt was created by the teamwork of Bowmore master whisky maker Ron Welsh and Aston Martin chief creative officer Marek Reichman. Taking inspiration from the Golden Ratio, which is often considered when the Aston Martin team designs their cars, this single malt has been made with a carefully crafted recipe, with the components all adding character to the final flavour profile.

The first release from Macallan Edition Series, Edition No.1 is a collaboration between master blender Bob Delgarno and the legendary Roca brothers. This single malt was drawn from a combination of European and American oak casks.

Nose: Mocha, brown sugar, a spark of ginger and some oak-y warmth.

Palate: Notes of Sherried raisins and dried citrus peels develop, a hint of vegetal oak. Still a little chocolate-y.

Finish: Spiced fruit cake and lemon peels.

A nice release in the Tun 1401 series from The Balvenie, the series so loved by The Balvenie Malt Master David Stewart. This David Stewart is the person who created the Tun 1401 series. Tun 1401 is a barrel of approximately 2000 liters in which all batches from this series have matured for a number of weeks. This Batch 8 version is made of 9 American oak barrels and 3 European sherry barrels, also made of oak. After that, Batch 8 was bottled at 50.2% in an edition of 2700 bottles. Notes of bourbon and sherry followed by aromas of honey, flowers, cinnamon and leather Taste: nice balance rich sherry notes, aromas of oak and spices. Label on front leaves minimal flaking on the rounds, but good to report for a clear sale. Shipping will be done carefully and quickly.

N: Clean, varnished, corn grain nose. Not overly sweet, sweet>medicinal with toasted pancakes and rich clean sugars. Little-to-no spice [which is deliberate].
T: Caramel, lots of maple syrup and a little acute bitter - again which Buffalo Trace candidly aim to subdue. It’s initially more peppery with only a little water before it settles down. Then it's like a dry honey with a delicious chew for the mouth to churn over. Despite the strength, it's so inviting.
F: Delicious vanilla, cream soda, a little dried lime, dried raisins/prunes and light sour cream. Light sweet tannins at the death.
C: Lovely, let's drink! It really is delicious!
