Manga Scroll Digitization Time Lapse
There's a lot that goes on behind the scenes to make Libraries' materials accessible to users. Our Conservation and Digitization teams are constantly finding creative solutions for repairing, preserving and capturing unique materials. Here's a time lapse video of a recent project: the digitization of an old Japanese manga scroll. The teams collaborated to design and build a rolling platform to glide the scroll under a stationary camera while treating the delicate object with care.
