The spiritual discipline of Sabbath is an act of saying in our real, everyday life “I HAVE ALL THAT I NEED IN JESUS."

It's about creating space in our lives to begin experiencing deeper levels of that rest HERE and now in Jesus as we look forward to the eternal rest that’s coming when Jesus returns.

So pause your scrolling and remind yourself "I have all that I need in Jesus!"

⭐ A Sure Hope - Christ will return!

"God, you have given us the gift of your Son, Jesus Christ.
May we flee to no other refuge,
Wash in no other fountain,
Build on no other foundation,
Rest in no other relief.

Shape our loves, desires, and affections toward You, that you may build in us a thirst for Your satisfying Word and a longing for your comforting voice.

We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen."

This summer, we've had the joy of praying over three Veritas families on Sunday mornings as they prepared to go overseas to work as full-time missionaries to share the hope they have in Jesus.

Pray for those sent from Veritas both around the globe and here in our own city! May we be encouraged by their witness to boldly proclaim the name of Christ wherever we may be sent in our daily lives...

"Oh, magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together!" Psalm 34:3

Applying God’s word to your life isn’t just asking, "how do I need to change my behavior?"

Instead, application starts with, "how does this change what I believe?"

Every application we find in Scripture, everything we are told to do, is always rooted in what Christ has already done for us and who we are by faith in Him! The Bible points us to come to Jesus because He is the way, the truth, and the life. Once we come to Him, God’s word transforms us to live a way of life that is in line with His truth!

So ask, "What would change about my life if I lived as if this was actually true?"

Because it is!

"In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that He lavished on us" Ephesians 1:7-10.

We celebrated baptisms yesterday at Veritas Tri-City and four people publicly declared that they have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus, and have chosen to walk in the grace He has lavished, forgiven and set free! 🙌

Between Veritas Tri-City and Short North, we got to welcome 100+ “campers” to “Camp Firelight” where they learned about trusting in God in the midst of fear…

THIS WEEK, we're pausing our sermon series in John to dive into a new summer sermon series: Disciplines of Delight. ☀️

Spiritual disciplines are meant to lead us to the delight of knowing and experiencing the presence and love of God...

They are activities demonstrated by the life of Jesus and spoken of throughout scripture that open our lives to the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. They are the Spirit-driven means through which we posture our hearts and lives to encounter and delight in the truth, grace, and presence of Jesus.

As disciples of Jesus, we are seeking to follow Jesus and become more like Him. As we study what scripture says about these disciplines, we seek to put them into practice as formative rhythms and habits in our lives, believing that the Spirit will work through them to enable us to stay faithful to our commitment to know and follow Jesus.

Vacation Bible School at Veritas is just around the corner and we're gearing up for two fun-filled weeks of Bible Stories, music, crafts, snacks, and games! ☀️

This year, your kids will be transformed into campers at Camp Firelight, where they'll embark on a journey of learning what it looks like to trust in the Lord amidst fear. 🏕️

9 people were baptized at Veritas across Columbus last Sunday... may the gift of watching others proclaim the new life they have been given in Christ always lead us to rejoice!

"We were buried therefore with Him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life" Romans 6:4 🙌

Today is pentecost Sunday, a day in the liturgical calendar when we remember that as Jesus ascended into heaven, the third person of the triune God, the Holy Spirit, descended upon believers.

Those who put their faith in Jesus are filled with the very presence of God through the Holy Spirit!

Because of Jesus, the people of God are the new temple of God, where the presence of God meets us everyday!

"We rejoice that You have died, have risen, and are now with the Father advocating for us!"

Week in and week out, these words are rehearsed together, as one family of God, spread across our beloved city, before we partake in communion.

This weekend, pause to remember what Christ has done for you on the cross and rejoice in His presence with you, right here, right now.

We can't wait to share in this meal together once more...

We're celebrating baptisms this weekend at Veritas Short North and Tri-City! 🌊

Baptism is the outward symbol of an inward reality, those being baptized are declaring that they have been united with Christ in His death and raised with Him into new life, redeemed, cleansed, and forgiven.

Pray with us for those being baptized, rejoicing that God has called them to Him! 🙌

Our Father gives good gifts… one of those is the gift of motherhood in all its forms. We thank God that the role of motherhood is found perfectly and completely in the character of God and that He uses the women of our church body to grow, love, nurture, and sharpen our community.
