We wanted to be able to share with you just how excited Lucy was for her new bike with this video. πŸ’• And we are sharing Adaptive Sports Connection's caption from their post because we simply couldn't put it into words any better ourselves!

"Lucy, age nine, clapped and waved her hands in the air with excitement as soon as she got on her new bike. It was a touching moment witnessing Lucy's brother and sister guiding and encouraging her along on the sidewalk as she pedaled.

Pedal with Pete Foundation, an ASC partner, generously funds Bikes to Go applicants with Cerebral Palsy (CP) every year. This year, they funded three kids' bikes on our waiting list! We have been attending this extraordinary annual event for several years now. A number of our athletes, volunteers, and staff came out to support, and a few chose to ride on 8 and 20 mile rides around Marysville.

The Pedal with Pete Foundation was funded in 1993 by Pete Zeidner in Kent, Ohio. Their mission is to raise funds for Cerebral Palsy research and to improve the quality of lives for people with CP. When Pete received his first recumbent bike, he witnessed how life-changing it was for him and decided to start an organization to bring the benefits of cycling to others with his disability. We are grateful for Pedal with Pete's support of our Bikes to Go program and look forward to many more years of bringing the freedom of cycling to those with Cerebral Palsy."

This is a shout out to Triad Schools for graciously agreeing to recognize Pedal with Pete during the past 3 weeks or so on your full color display outside the High School on Brush Lake Road.

We are not sure how many of our 62, 74 and 100 mile riders may have noticed, but for those who did, it sure looked great and made us ever more proud of what we have been about for the past 30 years - supporting cerebral palsy research!

THANK YOU TRIAD SCHOOLS!

The Pedal with Pete Foundation is seeking NEW Board Members to help us meet our mission. We are a not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) organization with a mission to raise funds for research leading to better prevention strategies and treatment protocols to improve the quality of life of people who live with cerebral palsy, their families and caregivers.

We are currently looking for Board Members (or project-specific volunteers) with expertise in the following areas:

Recruiting – to help attract volunteers
Legal – to advise the Board on any legal issues that arise
Medical – to help in the evaluation of research grant applications
Fund Raising – to reach out to companies, foundations and individuals to encourage them to support cerebral palsy research

With the exception of event day activities, most volunteer activities can be carried out at the volunteer’s home, on a schedule selected by the individual volunteer. The Board of Director’s meetings are held one evening a month, via Microsoft Teams.

If you are interested in volunteering, or want additional information, contact Nick Farmer at [email protected].

It's Giving Tuesday! Support Pedal With Pete and help us make a difference! As a direct result of the support of our donors, walkers, rollers and riders, The Pedal with Pete Foundation funded a grant in 2023 to study how motor control develops in infants (in an effort to discover interventions for infants with Cerebral Palsy). You can read more about our 2023 grant award at https://hubs.ly/Q02bg1Jm0.

This Giving Tuesday consider making a donation to Pedal with Pete and help us make a difference in the lives of people who live with cerebral palsy, their families and caregivers. On behalf of the people your support will help, The Pedal with Pete Foundation thanks you.
