The thought of ticks can give many people the “ick,” but as one of our Environmental Health Specialists, Neal Sargeant explained to a group of campers, we can easily live with them with the proper knowledge and precautions. You can prevent tick bites: Wear light colored clothing that covers exposed skin. Wear Permethrin, DEET or eucalyptus based repellents. Conduct a full body tick check and shower immediately after exposure. Drowning can happen quickly and is often silent. It can happen to anyone, any time there is access to water. Help prevent unsupervised access to water by installing and maintaining barriers, such as four-sided fencing, that fully enclose the pool and separate it from other areas. This Healthy & Safe Swimming Week, keep your loved ones safe from drowning: https://bit.ly/3ubXCev
