Not gonna lie, I usually try not to get too excited about successful outcomes when I submit artwork due to not wanting to be let down. But with this opportunity, I actually allowed myself to be excited about the chance to be featured in an art show post-pandemic at twenty four years old. I feel like the difficulty of how hard it is to be proud of yourself is something that isn’t really talked about a lot, but it’s honestly been a struggle for me.
A lot of times, I chalk up my accomplishments as just “that’s what I decided to do because there was no other option in my playbook”.
But not this time.
I’m finally learning to be proud of my accomplishments while also being equally grateful for the opportunities I’ve had. ✨

I’ve been really busy this last month with my job, grad school, volunteering, traveling, visiting friends/family, etc., but I HAVE been creating! 🎨 It’s the posting part that I’ll admit is lacking…🥴
That being said, I have a few pieces I’m working on (commissions included), but this piece is now finished! 🥰 It’s now up for grabs for $40!

This 3 foot tall commission was taken to its proud owner last night, and it reminded me of how much I simply love creating art for others. Seeing others’ reactions to new pieces created from a blank canvas, some brushes, a collection of paint, and two infamously shaky hands (coffee or anxiety? Will we ever find the culprit? 🤔).

There’s just something about that intrinsic motivation of finding something you love and just going after it, regardless of whether or not you know how it will turn out or look like. So my humble challenge to you guys is to just get after what it is you enjoy. It doesn’t have to be broadcasted for the whole world to see, but just do something you genuinely enjoy and see where it takes you and what it does FOR you.

The 2nd Friday Art Walk After Party was so much fun! I loved getting to meet so many creative people in the area and having the honor to hold my booth in one of the cutest little spots in downtown Little Rock! 💕 I loved meeting everyone who came out, listening to some great local music and learning about the processes of other local artists!
I can't wait to come out to the next one! 🥰

I had such a great time meeting with local creatives and artisans! The turnout for the first Front Street Market was incredible, and I can’t wait for the next!!

Because May is Mental Health Awareness Month, anything you buy today has 10% of profits going towards the Arkansas Chapter of the American Foundation of Su***de Prevention! This cause has helped many families, friends and individuals of those who have passed too soon, and I felt that it would be fitting to donate a portion of profits towards their cause this month. 💚

In other news, it’s so much fun turning my love for music into art! 🎨 summed it up himself, “Music is the air that I breathe. It’s the blood that pumps through my veins.”
I firmly believe that if it weren’t for music, I would MAYBE make a fraction of the art that I create. Though disco’s not a personal favorite genre for me, these disco balls are symbolic of good times spent with others enjoying catchy melodies and bringing us together, like all art forms do. 💛🧡❤️

I want nothing more to keep working on this commission, but alas....finals week is upon us. Wish ya girl good luck! 🤞🏼🥰
