Dell/ Debora Thompson was born on January 17 1966, in Waldo, Arkansas. She was one of 3 children. Waldo is a tiny rural community were she grew up with amazing funny business oreinted father & loving christain mother.Her early Cooking Lessons Dell acquired skills and love of freshness and seasonality growing up in Waldo, where such things were part of life. She learned most of her cooking from her mother. They used a wood-fired stove for all their cooking and measuring spoons or scales for baking cakes, pastas, potato salad, greens& more.

In her lifetime, Dell moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin & continued her amazing delicious cooking making it a business using her business mind she obtained from her father & her Christian spiritual knowledge to save lives with scripture giving advice, feeding the homeless with her mother & giving shelter to her friends & family in need and feeding their bodies & mind with the spirit of God.She would continue & go one with her family of 4 3 girls &1 Boy motivating them & would inspire a generation of young chefs and ensure that the traditional folkways of the South would not be forgotten. More than a skilled cook, Dell touched the lives of those around her with grace and the beauty of life.
