Let Freedom Ring

What is Truth? Truth makes Freedom. That’s essentially what Jesus said. And you shall know the truth and the truth shall MAKE you Free. John 8:32. I believe that Truth sparked inside of me on January 16, 2023. In such a supernatural way that there was no way I could deny it – have you ever had those moments? Where you are just convinced. Convinced of His Love..? Those moments that you can’t really ever adequately explain to anyone, but you just know it and that you’ll never be the same…

Because here’s the thing. Truth stands alone. It does not require anyone to agree or disagree with it. Merriam-Webster defines truth as ‘the body of real things, events, and facts: actuality, fact’. I define Truth as Christ-Jesus. And Jesus is the reality around us. Why was Adam placed into a garden and not straight into the throne-room described in Revelation? I mean, that’s where I’m seated, right? It’s because Jesus is our families, homes, our children, pets, even the things we own, the things we do, the emotions we feel, and yes, even the thoughts we think…

Then there is Trust. While Truth can stand alone, Trust always requires another. Merriam-Webster defines trust as ‘assured reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or something, one in which confidence is placed’. Proverbs 3:5-6 says “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”

And what Jesus is showing me is that I must Trust Him in me. To Trust the thoughts I have and the things that I want to talk about. That what I think and believe matters. What does it mean to be double-minded? Is it when I’m praying for things to get better when I really believe they’re supposed to get worse? Or maybe it’s thinking I’m not worthy of being saved when Jesus clearly thought differently. So, who am I agreeing with..? Jesus told me to love my neighbor as myself, yet religion either overtly taught me or covertly judged me (or both) that there are things about myself that I am not supposed to like and that it didn’t matter why I was thinking or desiring it – it just needed to be shut down. So, I am on a journey of what do I really believe? I believe in Christ. If I know nothing else, I DO KNOW that.

So, if Jesus lives in me 24/7, why is there a division within me of ‘good’ and ‘bad’ thoughts/behaviors. Trying to learn to cultivate the good ones while suppressing the bad..? Not allowing myself to even ask myself WHY I was having that thought or that desire…. I was taught to just shut it down and ponder Jesus. However, Galatians 5:16 Paul tells us that we are to yield to the Holy Spirit, yet here I am trying to resist my thoughts. Sounds like something dueling within me… I truly desire to be single-minded with Christ. Is that even possible? I don’t know, but it’s what I’m asking Him to do in me…

Lastly, I am really good at turning the things I love into chores…. This included my relationship with Jesus for a short bit. Not in my ‘secret/quiet place time’ because that is stronger than it has ever been (for anyone who might be curious), but a chore in the ‘winning souls’ arena, or ‘teaching’, even ‘events’. Setting people free through my own efforts – it was EXHAUSTING. I was literally sacrificing my own family on the altar of a ministry so small, I struggle even calling it that. It didn’t take me long to see that while I was running as fast as I could away from religion – I was still sitting in the very heart of it. Just the busyness and safety that religion offers – is not what I want. I want the real thing. This life I am living feels like the most REAL thing that I have ever experienced.

So, as Faith Hill says – LET FREEDOM RIIIIIINNNNGG……

Melchizedek Order

In the book of Hebrews the writer spends almost three full chapters (ch. 5-7) talking in some capacity about how Jesus is our High Priest of the order of Melchizedek… So, I go and look up Melchizedek to see who this guy was and we get about five verses about him in Genesis 14. Melchizedek means ‘King of Righteousness’. Melch – my King; Zedek (or Zadok) – Righteousness.

Melchizedek was the king of Salem (meaning peace) and Abram met him after coming back from victory in battle. He brought bread and wine and feasted with Abram in the valley. Genesis tells us that Melchizedek was a priest of El Elyon (God Most High). He was a priest before the Levitical priesthood was ever established (under Moses in Exodus). So, Melchizedek was a Gentile priest who met with Abram before he cut any covenant with God and became Abraham.

However, there is so much more to the Melchizedek order than just that. We are introduced to a man named Zadok in 2 Samuel 15. He was a priest to King David, loyal throughout all adversity and later became high priest under Solomon. He was high priest when Solomon’s temple opened.

Ezekiel 44 shows us that the priest of the order of Zadok "shall come near to Me (God) to minister to Me….they shall come near My table to minster to Me, and they shall keep My charge….they shall not clothe themselves with anything that causes sweat…” Ezekiel 44:15-18 condensed.

Basically, the Levitical priesthood would look at the faces of the people and tell the people what they wanted to hear; whereas the sons of Zadok would look at the face of the Lord and then minister unto the people… We are the priests of Zadok. Priests of the order of Melchizedek. We are to look unto the Father only and be unconcerned about what others think. I believe that understanding this is how 'change' is impacted upon this earth.

So, let’s take this a little further out of the box into New Testament Scripture…

John the Baptist was an announcement of the end of the Levitical order. His daddy was a high priest – he was in the temple when the angel came and told him his wife would have John… So, John the Baptist should have been a high priest as well. Yet, he was totally opposite of what the ‘priesthood’ looked like. He was dirty in the wilderness eating locusts and honey. I see him as dirty on the outside yet pure on the inside with a message saying ‘BEHOLD, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world….’

Then enters Jesus. The High Priest of the order of Melchizedek. He says things like “I do nothing I haven’t seen the Father do” (John 5:19). Jesus had a blatant disinterest in following the rules in the culture He was invading… He wasn’t looking at Rome or the Pharisee’s or the disciples to decide how to lead a revolution. He was looking unto the eyes of His Father…. And acting accordingly.

In Jeremiah 1:5 it says that before He formed you He knew you… So, I feel the Father calling a company of people into their true identities in Christ. Into those deep desires within you – you know, the ones that you don’t talk about because you’re just not sure what others may think…. And I hear Him saying that HE made you that way! That we were not made to conform to whatever ‘normal’ is, but He made YOU to be like YOU. He made YOU to be a unique facet of His Face. He made you distinct.

So, I call you out of hiding and into the uniqueness that He placed within you. To look unto the Father and be what He has called you to be – out of the box of conformity and uniformity. Out of the box of what religion says you’re supposed to look like. And I hear Him calling you into everything He says about you. No matter how weird it may seem. To trust Him IN YOU!!

He knows you better than you know yourself, so I speak deep desires of your heart being revealed that you didn’t even know were inside of you.

I hear Him calling many into the order of Melchizedek. Looking unto the Father and reflecting His Image onto this earth.

“We can all draw close to Him with the veil removed from our faces. And with no veil we all become like mirrors who brightly reflect the glory of the Lord Jesus. We are being transfigured into His very image as we move from one brighter level of glory to another. And this glorious transfiguration comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit” 2 Corinthians 3:18 TPT

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light” 1 Peter 2:9 NIV

Rest

Many have heard stories of Jesus being asleep in the boat (Luke 8). In Acts 12 there is the story of Peter being asleep. The night before he was scheduled to be executed...

What type of rest is that?? I used to have nights where I would stay up because of something way more insignificant than being put to death...

But Peter was so at-rest that the angel had to shake him awake.... He thought he was dreaming. Tied to guards, but not in any worry or stress or fear, or so it seems. If it were me, I would be up praying, begging God for help... So, what did Peter know that I need to understand?

When we start to understand that it is not by our own self-effort, but by Grace and Grace alone we are allowed to enter-in, if you will, a place of rest.

Jesus was asleep in the boat in the middle of the storm. The disciples awaken Him. Would they have sank if they had let Him continue to sleep? I don't think they would have. Because once Jesus calms the storm, He says 'where is your faith?'

There is a place in the heart of the Father where we are so CONVINCED of His Love for us that we do not worry or stress over any situation we face. Even when only hours away from ex*****on.

A convincing where obedience isn't even an effort we put forth.

A convincing that when in the middle of the storm - you know that Jesus is in your boat - not worried or panicked, or wringing His hands... Curl up and rest in Him.

The disciples woke Him up because they were scared they were going to sink. Allow faith to speak in the middle of your storm that you don't have to wake-up Jesus, but instead we can rest. Knowing that He sees it - He knows exactly where you are. You are not lost or foresaken. To see the resting place as faith for that is how we please Him....

So, I call you out of over-thinking and into not-thinking. Just simply KNOWING that He is GOOD and nothing but Good. A place of rest where you can trust the dreams...

A place of rest where there is no striving for anything. That He will accomplish it all.

"So we conclude that there is still a full and complete 'rest' waiting for believers to experience. As we enter into God's faith-rest life we cease from our own works, just as God celebrates his finished works and rests in them. So then we must give our all and be eager to experience this faith-rest life, so that no one falls short by following the same patterns of unbelief" Hebrews 4:9-11

Law & Self Effort

Paul tells us in Galatians 4:21-31 about Sarah and Hagar. The story of 'casting out the bondwoman and her son' comes from the story in Genesis 21. Basically, it was 'weening day' for Isaac - where he was going from milk to solid food and Sarah sees Ishmael mocking Isaac. Sarah then tells Abraham to get rid of the bondwoman, and Abraham does.

Paul tells us that Hagar and Ishamel represent the 'law' and 'self-effort'. Ishmael was the product of Abraham trying to help God along with His promise to him... Self-effort, Mount Sinai - where the law was given.

But Isaac is the son of the freewoman. Born supernaturally by the Holy Spirit. And Paul tells us that we are to also cast out the bondwoman as her son cannot be heirs with the free (Gal 4:30)....

What exactly does this mean? We have been taught that once we are 'saved' there is a list of to-do's. Read your Bible. Pray. Find a good church, etc. These are all good things to do, please do not misunderstand me here. I'm just saying there is more, so let's step outside of the box for a moment...

I believe we have mingled Law and Grace. We are so afraid to teach only Grace (and that is, in fact, all it is) because 'it will give folks a license to sin'. But we are not only NOT adding 1000's to the church daily, but a whole generation is fleeing form the church in general. I believe that it is a witness of an impoverished gospel. There, I said it.

We are actually to be led by the impulses of the Spirit, which is superior to the list of rules that we are given.

And it's everywhere, not just in the church. This leven has permeated schools, government, and homes.

Luke 1:37 - 'for with God, nothing shall be impossible'. What?? Nothing? Children have some wild thoughts and ideas... Just sit down with a 3 or 4-year old and listen to them talk... The sky is the limit - until they're taught differently...

Hebrews 5:13 says that those are on milk (not-weened) have not yet been pierced by the revelation of righteousness.

It means that when you were 'saved' you were given His robe of righteousness. We no longer wear our own. What does it mean to be the righteousness of God? That will be for a different day.

So today, I encourage you to quit looking at your robe. You now have His. Jesus is everything that the Father has to say about Himself and Jesus is everything that you have to say to Him about you. I say dream again - of big and bold things. Dream like a child again...

And that, my friend, is a gospel that really is 'too good to be true'.

"The mature children of God are those who are moved by the impulses of the Holy Spirit. And you did not receive the 'spirit of religious duty', leading you back into the fear of never being good enough. But you have received the 'Spirit of full acceptance', enfolding you into the family of God...." Romans 8-: 14-15 TPT

The Puzzle

A few weeks ago, the Lord started showing me a puzzle. All the pieces were scattered on the table and there was no box, so I didn’t know what the end-result would look like. The center of the puzzle was put together. There were no edges (because He has no end). The Lord showed me that I was really busy looking at this puzzle. Trying to put it together. Even often asking Him which piece goes where…

I had been going through some ‘stuff’ in my head. Just some negative thoughts. Beating myself up. Wondering why I couldn’t ’do better’. The Pharisee within rising up within saying ‘you shouldn’t be going through this’. Plead the Blood! Quote the Scriptures. The joy of the Lord is my strength. Maybe need to go on a fast…. Ugh.

Jesus said to be ‘like children’. It’s a Kingdom principle… What does a child do when they have those types of thoughts? They curl up in mama/daddy’s lap and cry or ‘process through’, if you will. Curl up to BE LOVED on…

We adults think we have it all ‘figured out’. We’re so ‘wise’ and ‘prudent’ because we are so unimpacted by things in this world. ‘Growing up’ has been engrained in us from birth.

We’ve been lied to for so long….

It’s why many Christians still feel a ‘void’. Whether admitted or not. The ups-and-downs. Toils and trials only partially interrupted by His Presence. It’s not how it’s supposed to be. And we all know it.

We’ve been taught to look at our puzzle. Go to college. Get the job. Change your behavior!! You should be further along than that by now. What is wrong with you? Try harder. GET YOUR PUZZLE TOGETHER!!!

But the TRUTH is - we are not supposed to behold ourself/our puzzle. He knows things about us that we don’t even know about ourselves…. We don’t know what it’s even supposed to look like…

We are to simply behold Jesus. We are not supposed to figure it out on our own with His ‘help’. We help Him through surrendering ourselves. Surrendering our effort. We are to just curl up in Abba’s lap and just let Him do it. As we curl up and just BE. BE with Him - BE LOVED, beloved. He puts our puzzle together. And that is grace, my friend.

And as we just be with Him. Focused on His Face (not yours). You will find that another piece gets added to your puzzle. And as that happens your perspective will broaden (of who He is and who you are). The picture will become more clear. You will become more enamored with Him. To discover just how enamored He is with you. And that is how 1000’s are added to the church daily…

So I call you out of the try-harder mentality and into His lap. Being unbraided from what you’ve been taught. And into His Perfect Perspective.

New Wine & Wineskin

I believe the Lord is wanting to bring flexibility into His body.

I hear the Lord calling a company of people into a freedom and flexibility of the mind. To ask Him your questions. To not just believe things because it’s what we have been taught it our entire lives. To question those places within you where fear or doubt may lie. The questions where you’ve not been satisfied with any answer man has given you.…

Because the TRUTH is - Yahweh is not afraid of your questions. I would even challenge that He delights in them.

And it really is true - that perfect love really DOES cast out all fear!! (1 John4:18).

To feel the freedom to question anything that strikes fear (past or present) in you. The things that are uncomfortable to look towards, even. To ask Him WHY certain things intrigue you like they do.

As systematic theology advances - wonder and awe decreases. We have so intellectualized the gospel…. Like we’re trying to master Him, when really we are to be mastered BY Him.

The first century church did not have a New Testament. They were writing it. So, I call you out of the Bible-box of religion into a deeper knowing that HE is bigger than that.

I call you into the mysteries of Him and into the things on His heart. I call you into a deeper knowing of your Bridegroom. Into knowing Yahweh and not just knowing about Him.

And I say to you, beloved. That He delights in your every move, look, and thought. That there is nothing you could do for Him to turn away. That He does not want to hear how sorry you are for the things you’ve done, but He simply wants to shower you with Love. It’s not your righteousness you are wrapped in anyway, but His.

Come out of the old wineskin of thinking you have disappointed God. Out of shame and low self-esteem. Out of beholding yourself with your faults, flaws, and behaviors.

I call you into the new wineskin of knowing how much He loves you, into a renewing of your mind. Into ‘everything finds completion in him’ (Col 1:17).

The new wineskin of being the one He delights in.

Allowing Abba access to my heart like never before

By beholding the Lamb and simply BEING the one He adores.

Ceasing from self-effort to be conquered by a love that I cannot comprehend.

Diving to depths once too difficult to dream and daring to believe He really has no end.

Encountering, exploring, emerging, and exclaiming – no matter the place.

Friend. Fountain. Foundation. The familiar frequency when I see His Face.

Growth by gleaning only on His goodness and grace.

Hidden in His heartbeat with heaven on the horizon, waiting on us.

Ingenuity and innovation bursting forth with sparks of ingenious.

Jolted alive by our joining. With joy and Jubilee

Kingdom, kindness, and knowledge now live in me.

Lifestyle of love and longing – so much so I don’t even have language.

Measured only by mercy and love – in the mysteries I long to get entangled.

Nearness and newness intertwine to bring forth new wine.

Open my heart to reveal truth even if it offends my mind.

Paradigm re-positioning happens within as I ponder the paradox.

Quenching my thirst is what He does as I question things outside of the box.

Rest, revelation, and restoration fill all of my days.

Supernatural spirit-strength is a fruit I display.

Transforming my thoughts through the too-good-to-be true gospel of truth

Unfolding the uniqueness of being unarmed and in union with my Bridegroom

Value in my vulnerability. Vibrating with excitement while envisioning the victory.

Worthy of wonder and awe. Wisdom wins. I love when He whispers to me a new mystery.

X marks the spot – straight at my heart. Experiencing the exchange – to get His righteousness in place of mine.

Yearning for His yoke, easy and light. I simply yield to Him and together we dine.

Zion bursting forth like never before. Zero is hells count as it owns nothing, so let’s quit keeping score.
