Board and train Sadie’s first session.
Sadie is the SWEESTEST girl with a goofy personality, but is pretty over exuberant. In our bonding time leading up to her session, jumping and pulling on the leash was a real problem. Once I put her in a structured situation, she was a little unsure of how things should work and seemed a little shy.
First sessions always give me so much information about the dog and that is why I always record them.
The great news is, Sadie already knows sit, is willing to try new things, is attentive to light leash pressure, and will lure! I can see her wheels turning when I asked her to do other things that she didn’t know yet and was giving her a chance to offer a down and trying to help her with a bit of body language instead of just luring (this actually gives me great information about how her mind works and her communication style). She’s a quick study and puts her personality into everything that she does.

Welcome Milo to the board and train program from Nashville!
Milo is a 4 year old Yorkie who is small but FIERY. He has quite a list of behavioral issues that I will be working through while he’s here.
🐾 severe crate anxiety- immediately starts salivating in the crate, barking, and will work himself up so much that he soils himself
🐾 separation anxiety
🐾 reactivity to humans and other dogs backed up with a bite history
🐾 difficulty potty training
🐾 continuous jumping for attention
🐾 attention barking
I am really looking forward to solving this little guys puzzle and giving him a skill set that will also build his confidence!
Be sure to follow his journey!
Welcome Mack to the board and train program!
Mack is a stunning lab puppy who has mastered both mischief and the sad puppy eyes.
While he has all of the typical puppy behaviors (biting, jumping, some difficulty potty training, being overly curious, stealing food, etc) he’s got some little humans at home that makes these behaviors quite difficult to handle for his hard working family! He also really enjoys chasing the kids scooters and biting at them, making taking him for walks with the fam, not the most pleasant experience.
Mack is here to learn some house manners, obedience, how to be calm, crate training, and to get on a good potty schedule.
Be sure to follow his journey!
Board and train Remi doing an amazing job at holding his down-stay with wildlife distraction!
His mom really loves walking at Cane Creek so it only made sense that this is where we would spend a lot of time proofing his commands.
Board and train Remi has been crushing all of his outings!
He’s recently been to Cane Creek for a group work session with Chromo and to test his obedience around wildlife, Petco, and even went to The Finery with me while I got my hair done!
This sweet boy is so ready for graduation and to be included in every part of his family’s life!
After Chromo graduated, his awesome mom has been super on top of his training and even met me at Cane Creek to do a group work session with Remi!
Academy family graduates! PLEASE DON’T FORGET ABOUT YOUR FOLLOW UPS! Please utilize them if you or your pup is struggling, or if you just want to get out of the house with your pup and want to have some structured fun! The only way to maintain their obedience is for them to keep seeing the picture and for you to practice your own skills! Training is never “finished”. If they don’t use it, they lose it!
Chromo on a wall at Cane Creek.
This is my favorite park to put dogs to the test with their skills and to see if any issues are still present. Nearly any situation where reactivity could surface, you’ll encounter on a one mile walk on a good day (yay exercise!).
Strangers
People on bikes/skates/scooters
Well behaved dogs and reactive dogs
Wildlife
Cars passing
Etc!
When Chromo first came, he was reactive towards people, especially men, and other dogs. It’s so nice to see him calmly enjoying a stroll that I can also enjoy 🥰

Chromo’s first session with another dog present.
We have worked really hard on his reactivity to other dogs through controlled micro exposures, giving him a skill set to fall back on, and engagement games between the two of us.
Since this session with Stella, he has met several other dogs and has even engaged in play with them and/or been indifferent or fallen back on his skill set and offered a down.

Board and train Tinsley practicing a real life scenario.
There’s a little human in her house, which means the door probably will accidentally get let open a time or five hundred.
Opening the door doesn’t mean she gets to go out, and it definitely doesn’t mean it’s time to bolt out even when she can’t see someone.
Board and train Tinsley making her own fun 😂 she has such a bubbly personality.
Previous board and train Gem got a scratch pad to help file down his nails while his dad and I continue to work on his tolerance of cutting his nails. He figured this out super quick!

We worked really hard this day on her confidence getting up onto new objects and platforms that move!
Board and train Chromo on an outing to Petco!
We set out on this outing to hopefully run into stranger dogs. We’ve been working super hard on his reactivity to other dogs. He didn’t have an are in the world that there was another dog there. Was very calm, did not fixate on the dog, and was easily able to follow his commands.
No video because we FaceTimed his momma so she could see it in real time!
Board and train Remi’s first ever outing to TSC!
First outings give me so much information on where the dog actually is with obedience and what we need to work on. From this particular outing, Remi definitely needs to work on duration in higher distraction areas, so that will become a focus for us.
His heel work is beautiful when he’s in his zone 💪🏻

It’s the eye 👀 contact for me! He’s so cute it hurts. It’s so hard to not squeeze on him all day long.
Board and train Remi did amazing on his first ever outing to TSC!

Duration place while we watch TV and a duration down-stay while I get the dishes done.
After the board and train program, it’s really important that your dog sees the picture of obedience daily. You don’t have to set aside time to specifically work on obedience, just work it into your daily routine where it makes sense for you!
*place while you watch tv
*sit-stay while you retrieve a package at the front door
*down-stay while you eat dinner
*instead of walking to the mailbox alone, put a leash on your pup and ask them to heel to and from the walk to the mailbox
*practice recalls on their potty breaks
* sitting and the door and waiting EVERY TIME before you go in or out
