3D SKIN ANALYSIS

The Visia 3D Skin Analysis is a high-tech imaging system used in dermatology and cosmetic practices to analyze the condition of a person’s skin in detail. The system captures high-resolution, multi-spectral images of the face to assess various skin concerns and conditions.

It can measure and quantify various aspects of the skin, including wrinkles, texture, pores, pigmentation, UV spots, red areas (such as inflammation or vascular conditions), and porphyrins (bacteria on the skin).

For this patient, the bacteria on the skin was scored really low so it was important to treat and reduce the amount of acne causing bacteria to subside symptoms of acne. She also scored really low on redness/inflammation, pigment, texture, and pores.

We’ve treated her with 6 sessions of Aerolase to aid in killing acne causing bacteria, reduce inflammation, and pigment. We also put her on a mandelic acid skin routine which is an anti fungal, antibacterial, and antiviral to further the process at home.

NON SURGICAL FACELIFT 🪡

We get a lot of questions in regards to droopy tissue of the face and how do we know whether to do Morpheus 8 versus PDO threads. But why not combine both treatments for optimal results ? 💌

The Morpheus 8 uses microneedling that goes to deeper depths with radiofrequency energy.  The result is skin remodeling with tightening, eradication of unwanted tissue/fat, and overall improvement in skin texture with reduction of wrinkles.  The downtime post Morpheus 8 is minimal, with mild redness possible post procedure.  We typically ask patients to use Aquaphor for 24-48 hours and avoid make up during that time as well.  The results from Morpheus are amazing!  But you have to be a little more patient to get the end results, as final results from one treatment are not evident right away. 

PDO threads are created from a suture that we have used for over 30 years in surgical procedures.  They dissolve and leave collagen stimulation behind.  There are lifting threads that lift tissue instantly and smooth threads that add volume.  The downtime post PDO thread placement is also relatively minimal. Patients do need to avoid any exaggerated movements of the mouth and face for 2 weeks after placement of lifting threads.  The collagen boosting results from PDO are everlasting. The lifting effect might require a touch up in 9-12 months.

It’s purpose is to restore volume loss that gives you hollow looking tired appearance. Undereye filler is painless due to numbing agents and typically lasts TWO years, depending on your body’s metabolism.

It’s important to note that you should not fully correct the undereyes with filler because filler attracts water, which increases the volume.

This treatment does not help with the pigment of the skin however in some cases like this patient it appears her under eyes are brighter.

Why is that?

That is because her pigment wasn’t discoloration of the skin. Her under eyes appeared dark because it was sunken and creating a dark shadow.
