The Growth Center

So as some of you may have noticed, we have been having a large garage sale. We are selling so much stuff as we make plans for our next adventure.

When I began setting out items to sell and continued to go through boxes I was actually a little embarrassed. I even had someone ask me on my first day of the garage sale, if it was a multi-family sale. "Nope, it's all mine!"

But I came to a realization, I was buying all that stuff because I thought it would make me feel better. I was looking for my happiness with every purchase.

I would buy the cute clothes and never wear them because how I felt about myself. I would buy ALL the Christmas decorations because even if it wasn't the Hallmark Christmas I envisioned, at least it would look like it. I would buy all the latest gadgets because that made me cool.

But all of those purchases didn't change the way I felt inside. It gave me an instant dopamine high that usually went away even before I made it home.

I have learned so much about myself just these last couple years that I know I can't go back and change all of that, but I can moving forward. My happiness can't come through things.
My happiness comes from God and all that He has given me. So many things I am grateful for I have taken for granted. I was looking for happiness when it was always right in front of me.

So I guess my lesson can become your teaching.

What is your driving force behind what you do? Are you looking elsewhere for something that is sitting right in front of you? Are you wanting someone or something else to bring you happiness?

Evaluate all you do.

Good, great morning to everyone!! It's been a while. I have missed you all so.
I have been gone but now I'm back and ready to jump in to it.

So, I have this space to use and I would like to know, what would you like to do here.

I do have a few paint parties and craft parties we are going to schedule but what else would you like to do.
