📰 “A major gastronomic collaboration is afoot: In honor of its three-year anniversary in the United States, Paradise Dynasty, the Singapore-based xiao long bao (XLB) eatery in South Coast Plaza, will team up with Heritage Barbecue, San Juan Capistrano’s lauded barbecue joint, to create three China-meets-Texas limited-edition dishes.

The culinary alliance will result in the following fare:

🍚 Smoked BBQ char siu egg fried rice: A fried rice dish featuring Heritage Barbecue’s smoked pork belly char siu glazed with brown sugar, soy sauce, hoisin, mirin and Chinese five-spice. The pork gets cold-smoked for 10 to 12 hours before being hot-smoked for 3 to 4 hours. The char siu is then cubed and added to Paradise Dynasty’s egg fried rice.

🥐 Smoked BBQ char siu mille-feuille: A radish pastry that’s a take on a char siu bao (or Chinese BBQ pork bun), this dish uses Paradise Dynasty’s dim sum item (a traditional radish pastry that’s the restaurant’s most popular item) that benefits from Heritage’s barbecue char siu pork filling nestled inside the flaky folds of a delicate pastry.

🥟 Smoked BBQ pulled pork XLB: Heritage Barbecue’s smoked pulled pork and house-made sauce inside Paradise Dynasty’s soup dumpling. The collab menu’s char siu fried rice and char siu mille-feuille will be available from Sept. 23 through Oct. 31; the smoked pulled pork XLB will launch on Sept. 26 to coincide with National Dumpling Day.

🎉 Also of note, the first 100 tables on Sept. 26 will receive a free six-piece basket of Heritage smoked pulled pork XLB.“

Cha Redefine also recently launched a new set of drinks featuring drinkable mochi. Other cool menu highlights include a peach milk tea made with blended peaches, tea and milk and; matcha soft serve; and Sri Lankan ceylon tea soft serve.

📰 “The dumpling and noodle joint in South Coast Plaza now has a new cold-poached chicken dish served with a spicy Sichuan dipping sauce with lettuce wraps. Another ideal dish during the summer months is the chilled silken tofu in soy vinaigrette and topped with crispy onion.”
