Accurate description of being on call or baby watch (as I like to call it🥰)

It's only been two months but I'm so excited to finally be on call for a birth once again. It is one of my greatest honors to journey with parents as we wait for their baby.

When you ask a doula to be on-call for you, you are paying her to:

🛑Stay in the area at all times
🚗Keep her car filled with gas
🥩Plan meals for her family should she suddenly be unavailable
👩‍👧‍👧Have babysitters on standby
🍷Limit or avoid alcohol so she's always ready to go
📅Plan the rest of her life loosely
🎟Risk missing big events
🛌And make sure she's well rested in case tonight's the night.

Starting at least two weeks before your due date and for ever how long it takes after.

I'm not exaggerating when I say it's a BIG job.

But for those of us who do it, it's a labor of love ❤️
