CNA and HHA registration window for Summer 2024 Cohort is open! Apply 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟑 to participate in our noncredit program and get your certification in as little as 8 weeks.

𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬:
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Have a high school diploma/GED

𝟐) Create an account to access Canvas and Corsair Connect when you receive a follow-up email titled "Your SMC Account Information" with your 𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘥.

𝟑) Since you will be taking classes in a clinical setting, you are required to 𝘴𝘶𝘣𝘮𝘪𝘵 𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘤𝘶𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴: criminal background check, drug screening, CPR/BLS certification, proof of negative TB results and COVID-19 vaccination. Enroll in our free-of-charge Spring 2024 ESL classes by completing these simple 5 steps below:

Step 1
Fill out and email back the PDF application (https://www.smc.edu/academics/noncredit/documents/NonCredApplication.pdf) to [email protected]. All sections of the application must be completed for it to be processed.

Step 2
You will receive a follow-up email with your student number, enrollment confirmation and instructions on how to create your Corsair Connect and Canvas account. You need to create these accounts in order to access your online and hybrid classes.

Step 3
Speak with a counselor to know which classes you can enroll in. You can make an appointment* for a phone/Zoom meeting via this link, https://smcnoncredit.youcanbook.me or an in-person appointment* using this link: https://smcnoncredit-inperson.youcanbook.me . At the time of your appointment, you will also be scheduled for an intake test (Step 5).

* please continue to check appointment availability if you don't see any right away.

Step 4
You will need to watch this online orientation, (https://launch.comevo.com/smc/1113). It will get you familiar with our programs and the services and resources we have to offer in order to help you achieve your career and educational goals.

Step 5
Take the pretest at a date and time that the counselor assigned you for. As you improve in your classes, you will be asked to take this test again which will measure your progress from beginning to end of your educational journey with us. After you complete the test, you will be enrolled in our ESL classes.

Our Rehabilitation Therapy Aide certificate program will begin on Feb. 18th. There is still time to join! Email us at [email protected].

This program will teach you how to maintain treatment areas, prepare and aid therapy sessions, transport immobile patients, and the proper methods of body mechanics for patient assistance. Explore the field of rehab. therapy and learn essential job duties, have hands-on clinical experience, and gain the understanding of anatomy and body mechanics.

Earn your certificate in one semester!

Interested in a career working with children? Want to explore the academic field of Early Childhood Education without risk to your GPA or tuition costs? Then our Introduction to Early Care and Education certificate program might be for you! Get your certificate in as little as one semester!

This program will introduce you to the stages of child development while discovering new strategies to develop a culturally relevant curriculum. Complete ALL three courses to earn a noncredit certificate of completion in Introduction to Early Care and Education. To enroll or for more information please email us at [email protected].
