Today we would like to highlight AHEC West's Healing Allegany team. They provide access to harm reduction and recovery services through Project Connect. They offer free Narcan training and harm reduction services to support individuals from all walks of life on their recovery journey. Their Peer Recovery Specialists are available to provide assistance and support. Additionally, the Peer Support 24/7 hotline is always available by calling 240-410-3070.
AHEC West also offers health insurance assistance at Project Connect. They are an official partner of Maryland Health Connection and provide free services to help you enroll in either a private health plan (Qualified Health Plans) or a state health insurance plan (Medicaid). We serve Allegany, Garrett, and Washington counties, and their team can assist you in finding health insurance plans that fit your specific needs. Depending on your financial situation, you might be eligible for financial help to lower your monthly costs.

For those who are just hearing about us, we partner with community resources, and help facilitate events for anyone to attend. We have different agencies, and organizations attend that provide varying resources with the goal of helping you get connected.
We are trying to spread the word about all of our awesome community partners, and we need your help! We are asking that you share our page with your friends, families, and clients to help us spread the word.

Today we would like to highlight the Allegany County Health Department’s Out Patient Behavioral Health Services.
The Allegany County Health Department’s Outpatient Behavioral Health Services division serves residents of Allegany County. A wide array of Mental Health and Addiction services are offered to both adolescents and adults. Treatment is individualized, based on the unique needs of the patient. Some of the services provided include addictions treatment, mental health treatment, and prevention treatments. For more information contact them at 301-759-5050.

Their mission is to provide comprehensive, personalized mental health, addiction and prevention services to adults recovering from substance use disorders which may be compounded by mental health disorders.
Their staff is dedicated to providing high-quality, accessible, efficient and effective treatment programs.
Referrals for admission are accepted from inpatient/residential treatment programs, drug courts, outpatient treatment programs, hospitals and crisis centers. Referrals must be Maryland residents. They accept most insurances, Medicaid and self-pay.

Today we would like to highlight the Allegany County Health Department’s Dental Clinic.
Their Dental Clinic offers services for children and pregnant women, an adult extraction clinic, school-based sealant program, and other oral health outreach programs. For more information and eligibility requirements, see their online site at https://health.maryland.gov/allegany/Pages/Dental.aspx.

Today we would like to highlight the Allegany County Health Department’s To***co Cessation Program.
This program provides Cessation services to residents of Allegany County who are 18 years of age or older and have a written order from their primary care provider stating they are healthy enough to participate in the program. Participants are seen at the health department every two weeks by a to***co treatment specialist to remain in the program. If you want more information you can call the Maryland Quitline at 1-800-QUITNOW.
