The above words are from the United States of America's Declaration of Independence. The Declaration of Independence was adopted unanimously on July 4, 1776 by the 56 delegates to the Second Continental Congress who convened in Philadelphia at the Pennsylvania State House. These 56 delegates (from the 13 colonies) who signed the Declaration of Independence became known as our nation's Founding Fathers. John Hancock was the first signature of the document. The Declaration of Independence declared our independance from Great Britian.
July 4, 1776 was the birth of American's independence. 248 years later we continue to celebrate America's birthday with parades, picnics, fireworks, barbecues, etc. Patriotism is on display, with the flying of Old Glory in front of our homes and businesses and the the wearing of red, white, and blue. It's just some of the many ways we celebrate America's brithday.
I want to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a Happy 4th of July. I'm so glad that you are part of NARFE's family and especially that you are part of the Region III family.

Federation Bylaws require us to have an Annual Meeting at which the President delivers his State of the Federation Address and the Federation Treasurer presents the Annual Financial Report. We will also be addressed by NARFE National President William "Bill" Shackelford.
Save the Date —The 2024 GA Federation Virtual Annual Meeting will be held via Zoom on Tuesday, June 17, 2024, from 10 AM – 12 PM (EDT).
Registration information will be provided shortly. A copy of the agenda will be posted on the Federation website and will be sent to you along with the Zoom link for the meeting.
