Tonight’s council meeting (begins @ 6:00 PM) is a very important one. We will have a public hearing on several items including finalizing the tax rate. While we have expected an increase the increase was not as much as expected due to various differing calculations made by the county tax accessors. I’m including a link to the full agenda (with hyperlinks) and a link to my forecasted explanation of why and where I believe the increases originate(d).
Be Blessed - Scott Williams

Another great job by our Wylie, TX City Hall Parks & Rec department!
UPDATE: Waterways tend to get complicated with the level of federal, state and local entities involved, including the communication delays between each. That combined with various complex contingencies like land acquisitions and funding/bond requirements will always create some surprises. While council recently learned of this, there being a problem to resolve is no surprise; as I have said for years “The art of construction is efficiently and effectively solving problems”. As we work through these recent obstacles, just know that our staff collectively is adapted to resolving these type of issues on a regular basis. This is part of how the cake is made. I would expect we will have more problems to resolve as the full project unfolds, as with most any construction project.
Keep an eye out for more updates as the project picks up and continues to completion:) Be Blessed:)
Wylie, TX City Hall
Much progress has been made on the construction of McMillen Road, but one of the wettest springs on record, delayed utility relocations, and an unplanned resubmittal of the City's U.S. Army Corps of Engineers permit has caused a delay.
The USACE permit for this project was submitted several years ago, but we recently learned that due to updated wetlands permitting requirements, the changing size of the wetlands, and the scope of the project, the USACE required more from us, including an archeological survey.
We hope to be back on track this September 2024 and apologize for the inconvenience. This roadway is critical to our overall mobility plan, helping to relieve traffic congestion for our growing community.
Wishing all our family & friends a blessed 4th of July!! 🇺🇸🗽🚒🎇🥰
Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers that help make our community the amazing place it is. I encourage you to keep giving, keep caring and keep trying to place the needs of others above your own. The difference it makes is often hard to measure, but the impact of ceasing or not doing so becomes evident only after the opportunity is lost. Your sacrifices are not in vein, they are seen, understood and appreciated. Remember to Be Kind, and that we are all flawed. So have some grace for yourself, God does. Be Blessed - Scott Williams
Ready for a great time!! Put it on your calendar! Just one example of what makes Wylie so special!!
All gave some, some gave all. Today we honor our brave men and women and the sacrifices they and their families have given for our freedoms. I encourage us all to greet the families of those who gave all with a simple “Thank You for your sacrifice, your loved one is not forgotten.”
On behalf of those I represent including myself, Thank you. - Scott Williams

I wish each of you a Merry Christmas! As I reflect on this past year and the blessings that have surrounded my family and our community, I am in awe. I send prayers for those who have lost loved ones this year, for those who serve our great country and the sacrifice their families make and are making this very day. I pray for our first responders and the call they consistently answer to help, serve and protect; leaving their families while the rest of us enjoy time with ours. To each of them I say, “We are blessed because of you!” Most of all, thank you Lord for the sacrifice of your one and only son, Jesus Christ. May his peace, joy, and love lead us into the new year as we love each other as he loves us. We really are better together! - Scott Williams
