Texas Longhouse Mead
I love everything about mead and want to bring you the best product I can.
Rumor has it that they followed the Longboats across the seas and were fierce fighters. Don't forget to rub it for good luck. Safe drinking. Skol!
Thanks to everyone who helped with our kickstarter stretch goals... WE HAVE BARRELS! Picked up 4 fresh dump Amburana barrels. To make everything better, we gout our license back and are ready to start brewing soon.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!. You all are amazing. Backer surveys have been sent out already, so make sure to check your emails and return them as soon as you can. Glassware has been ordered and should arrive at the end of the month. Those who are part of the Founding Member tier and above, the TLM merchandise are on order but should be ready in August. So those shipments will be a little delayed getting out.
First off, I want to thank everyone who shared our campaign and to those who have backed our campaign. We hit our stretch goal and we will be getting slushy machines. We want to make the best of the next 8 days to raise as much as we can to expand on our barrel program. So share with your friends, family, and neighbors so we can get some more barrels to bring you even more delicious meads.
9 days left on the kickstarter to get your name on the bar! Once it closes, it will be too late. Get in while you can to help make this space a place to gather and enjoy for all.

Well, we are starting to get the finishing touches into place. We have a few more things to hang u, and then we will start laying tiles onto the bar. There is still time to get in on the kickstarter and have your name on our bar and get a Funders Club glass ($50+ tiers). http://kck.st/3V7nS7v
The link is in bio for IG users.
Day by day, we are adding little touches here and there to make this a better place for us and for you. The display and drying rack was put up. Top shelf to display bottles and awards. The other shelves are for glassware.
You may be cool but do you have your own meadery shield? Thank you for the great work on the shields.
Honey is moved into the meadery with another load being delivered tomorrow. honey pump came in today and we are about ready to put it to work.
I want to thank everyone who has backed the kickstarter campaign so far. Especially . We still need to get their tiles set up, but and have also supported and backed us. We love the community, especially the mead and brewing community that has surrounded us. We still have 28 days left, so share with your friends and family to help make this a space for everyone to enjoy.

The tanks are being resealed. New orings on all the ports and valves, as well as new level sight glass. The relief valves (airlock) were taken apart, cleaned, and new springs put in. Brite tanks are next to get all new seals.
We have water flowing with the RO system! Just need to install the float shut off switch in the 300 gallon storage tank from . Day by day we are getting closer and closer.
Thanks to everyone who has backed our kickstarter by either donating or sharing the campaign we are able to get a jump on building the bar out. I'm excited to see everyone's name added to the bar once the campaign ends. There is still time to get in on the action to get your name on the bar.
Our kickstarter campaign has officially launched. You can search kickstarter for our campaign (or click on the link if available). We want to thank everyone ahead of time for your support, whether it's backing the project or just sharing our posts and links. We appreciate you all for helping and supporting us to achieve our goal.

Another day and another step closer. Cooler just needs to be sealed up and plugged in. One more brite tank needs to be moved in and set up. Then we can see how many more tanks we can fit in here (hopefully two more is the plan).
So, as many of you know, we are in the process of doing our bar build out. We are going to be doing a Kickstarter campaign to get the community involved in the taproom buildout. We will have several different tiers available for this campaign.
$10 gets your name on a tile to be placed on the bar. (300 available)
$50 gets your name on the bar and a one-time release TLM wine glass. (100 available)
$100 name on bar, wine glass, extra TLM merchandise, and a founders card to use once a year during your birthday month for extra taproom perks. (100 available)
Stay tuned for the campaign launch, so we can build this taproom for the whole community to enjoy.
OH YEA!!! Shout out to for their fast processing and shipping. Finally, I got the right CIP rotary ball to clean the tanks. A good pre wash scrubbing yesterday and now a good hot liquid and wash cleaning today. These tanks should be moving to the meadery this weekend.
Another task completed. Another day in the books and one step closer to moving everything in. Taproom floora are getting staind and sealed tomorrow. I can see and hear it now, people greeting and gathering for a drink. A couple sitting at a table in the corner laughing and making memories. New comers are coming in to see what the hype is all about and get hooked in mead. Hard work to get to that point but it puts a smile on my face every day
Apparently, I did such a great job on the accent wood wall that the property owner now wants to redo all the walls to be the same now. Out with the metal walls and in with the wood walls. I'm not gonna lie, I'm pretty excited about it.
Hi, welcome to Texas Longhouse Janitorial Services where we sweep and mop concrete floors all day. 🤣 Apparently you don't own a meadery you just clean it, or so I have heard.
Signed our lease, and we can start moving in May 1st. Still have a few things to finish up, such as staining and sealing the floors, and putting up the last of the interior walls in the taproom. Finishing the restroom, but we are on our way to our goal.
When we travel I always try to find mead. Well I found mead in Antigua, Guatemala at the Skal bar and restaurant.
**UPDATE. NEW DATE IS SEPTEMBER 15**
Want to judge mead? We need certified judges to make the Texas Mead Cup happen. You can become a certified mead judge. We have spots available for the tasting exam. You must pass the online exam first before taking the tasting exam.
More information is in the link below about the BJCP mead certification steps.
Email Neil Spake [email protected] to reserve your seat.
The tasting exam will consist of judging 6 meads and writing score sheets. Your evaluations will be compared with the proctored judges’ evaluations. Once exams have been graded you will be notified if you passed and at what level.

First order of 2,644 pounds of honey delivered and signed for!!! Now waiting to get the building inspection so we can move in. One day at a time.
Found someone who was selling a 15 gallon 291 barrel. They had previously aged a bochet in it. Well of course I had to pick it up for my small batch/test meads. They also offered to laser engrave the logo on to it. SUPER EXCITED FOR THIS ONE!.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Remember to drink with honor.
Skål!
Nice day to wash 50 kegs. 😬 No days off when there is a goal to reach. What are your plans for the rest of the week?
Another day and another few projects were completed. The ceiling was painted, and the keg washer was completed with a few upgraded modifications.
It was a long and productive weekend. We got the back wall put up, minus the top trim, and even got the family involved. Things are moving along slower than expected, but we are taking it one day at a time.
Co-brewer 😏 on two 3rd place medaling meads at Valkyries Horn. These two meads are really good and I'm looking forward to getting them into the fermenters soon.
