Top 5 Regrets from Bronnie Ware:

1) “I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.”
2) “I wish I hadn’t worked so hard.”
3) “I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings.”
4) “I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.”
5) “I wish I had let myself be happier”

Drop a 🩷 if you are open to loving more…

The biggest mistake we make in the life is thinking we have time. Be present, be kind, love more and love now.

Last class. We cried. We laughed. We listened to “Fat Bottomed Girls”. Some of us ate ice cream after. I again forgot to take pictures before class, so not everyone who attended is pictured.

Will miss the space.
Will miss the tree.
Will miss the community we created here.

I’m going to wallow for a bit.

But I’ll see you at the Dallas studio next Wednesday at 8:30 for Open Flow!

My last class at Plano is at noon today. I made it to the end of class before I lost it yesterday, but not sure how long I’ll make it today. Right now, there are no opportunities for me to teach this n the regular schedule at the Dallas studio, but I will sub as often as I’m able. It’s strange to not see my name on the schedule after 14 years of being a regular instructor. My heart is heavy, but I know that bigger things are on the horizon and that this is definitely not goodbye. This community of people who have laughed, cried, listened, shared, cheered, shared silence, and so much love, will always hold an incredibly special place in my heart as it will for so many others. I am grateful for each and every one of you and every moment we’ve had together. For every class, every pose, every ring of an unsilenced phone… Just grateful.

I will be accepting hugs and drowning my sorrows in ice cream after class today. Hope you can join me.

It isn’t your job to convince them to care; try to meet them where they are at, with empathy and understanding even if they cannot seem to understand you.
Guard those things you care about deeply and that make you, you. You are who you are, and that is already enough.
What needs to change isn’t that driving force of who you are but rather the kinds of people you choose to surround yourself with. Choose people who understand your soul and make you feel loved and valued and appreciated. Choose people who make you feel good about the things your heart beats for.
And if you are around people who don’t see your spark, understand that they may be petrified in their own patterns. Keep nurturing yourself - be true to your nature. That will open new doors and help you more than you know.

I’ve been getting to share yoga with the folks at in Plano since June. The clients there have really enjoyed our time, and I was invited to continue this fall. Yesterday, I arrived to find that the staff members had turned the space we had been using from a multipurpose space with tables and chairs that needed to be moved each week into a real movement space! Not joking, I got a little teary-eyed! so excited to continue this work with these sweet people.

Cue my heart breaking. I’m going to miss this sweet space so terribly.

Posted • This month, Patricia takes us on a nostalgic journey through our wonderful Plano studio. Grab your favorite morning beverage and dive into this month’s blog. 🧘‍♀️☕

“I have often written about the amazing community that surrounds The Mat, a community made from the people at both studios. There are individuals you see while attending the same “schedule,” and it’s so fun hearing all the conversation before class starts. I’ve gotten – and given –book recommendations, heard about vacations and, most recently, have started hearing about The Mat’s wonderful retreat in Portugal. With workshops alternating between Dallas and Plano locations over the last several years, it’s been such a great way to bring the communities of these two spaces together even more.”

Let’s choose to lead with compassion and seek solutions rooted in understanding, not fear or anger. May we always aim to be beacons of light and peace, advocating for progress through peaceful means.

Together, we can embody the change we wish to see, maintaining our integrity even when faced with profound disagreements. 🌟

In a world that often values productivity over well-being, it’s crucial to give ourselves permission to say no without guilt or explanation. Each of these statements empowers individuals to honor their limits and protect their mental and emotional health.

Saying no isn’t about rejecting others; it’s about affirming one’s own needs and capacities. Whether it’s recognizing that something is beyond one’s expertise or simply needing rest, these phrases are tools for maintaining balance and preventing burnout. Embracing these expressions allows for a more sustainable and authentic way of living, where one’s own needs are respected and prioritized.

Let’s create a culture where setting boundaries is seen as a strength, not a weakness. By normalizing these phrases, we support a society that values personal well-being and mutual respect. Everyone deserves to feel empowered to protect their time, energy, and mental health without fear of judgment or repercussion.

07/13/2024

Just a reminder. Take a breath. Be gentle with yourself.

07/08/2024

Posted • It’s essential to remember that the opinions others hold about you are often reflections of their own beliefs, insecurities, and experiences. Internalizing these judgments can obscure your sense of self-worth and authenticity. Instead of seeking validation externally, focus inward on nurturing a positive self-image and honoring your values. When you prioritize self-acceptance and self-respect, you empower yourself to navigate life authentically, guided by your own principles and aspirations.

Letting go of the need for others’ approval liberates you from the constraints of societal expectations. It allows you to embrace your individuality fully and live in alignment with your true essence. This journey towards self-validation encourages personal growth and resilience, fostering deeper connections with like-minded individuals who appreciate and celebrate your uniqueness.

Ultimately, by cultivating a strong sense of self and authenticity, you reclaim your power to shape your own narrative. Trust in your ability to define who you are and how you show up in the world, paving the way for genuine fulfillment and meaningful relationships based on mutual respect and understanding.
