With our seasoned family doctors at Village Health Partners and Village Pediatrics, we understand the importance that health and fitness play in sports. That is why we offer sports physicals, this exam assesses the athlete's overall medical condition and examines their potential risk for injury. This examination is a requirement for students wishing to participate in school-related sports and must be given prior to the start of the season. This simple examination consists of looking over and discussing the patient’s health history, as well as giving a physical examination. Through sports physicals, we can address any concerns and preparation prior to the beginning of the season so that every athlete can play at their very best.

Huge milestones were made this month with our amazing team. Celebrate with us, as our supporting team members reach another year as part of the Village Health Partners Family.

Janna Chun is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner with 13 years of experience in the medical field and works at Village Health Partners Independence Medical Village in Plano, TX.

She loves getting to know her patients and enjoys treating them like family. She is passionate about treating each patient individually, being mindful of their overall well-being, and wishes to gain a relationship with each one of them. Janna believes every patient has a story, and that we can learn and benefit from listening to and helping each other. She feels so blessed to work in medicine, to uphold the Hippocratic oath, and to be able to incorporate her faith in the workplace.

She also encourages her patients to eat healthful food, not smoke or partake in drugs, and drink plenty of water!

Munira Asif is a certified primary care Family Nurse Practitioner at Village Health Partners West Plano Medical Village and sees patients ages 18 and older. She is passionate about patient education and preventative medicine. She is a proponent of age-appropriate screenings done in a timely manner to prevent most chronic diseases.

Her goal is to educate her patients about their health as much as possible and assist them with taking ownership of their health. Munira also encourages her patients to stay active, incorporate a healthy lifestyle, and communicate their family health history.

Munira is also passionate about mental health and getting her patients the resources they need.

When we open a location, we strive for the best patient health care that can be provided, we're happy to say a year later that we're still providing the best for the best.
