We're excited to share that Hoop Club is being acquired by AREENA. It’s been an amazing journey over the past 4 years (maybe not this past year), and we are so grateful for all of you who have come out and hooped with us. We had an external mission for our company which you all know - “No Drama Pickup Basketball”, but we also had an internal mission - “To make everyone feel like they belong on the basketball court”. We secretly measured the number of high-fives during sessions sometimes to see if it was a good session or not. We had this mission because we believed that if we could make you feel like you belong on the basketball court, then we could make you feel like you belong in this world. Hoop Club is so special to me because I haven’t always felt that way. Thank you to everyone who has come out and helped build this community.
Katrina and I decided to join AREENA Sports because the team is building cutting edge technology necessary to scale leagues and pickup, and to bring our dreams into reality. Katrina will be leading the Operations team and Ed will be leading Growth team. It’s a really exciting time!
What does this mean for you?
We’d love to see you come and play in the basketball leagues at AREENA. 3 new leagues launched this month: Sunday nights at The Mac in Lewisville, Saturday evenings at Christ United Methodist Church in Plano, and Wednesday/Sunday nights at St. Phillips in South Dallas. We are still running Hoop Club sessions, starting with Monday nights at Old Settlers Rec Center in McKinney. Continue to sign up at www.hoopclub.org. Once our AREENA app is ready to handle pickup, we’ll shift the sign-up process over there!
Lastly, reach out, and share your stories with us! We still have a lot of Hoop Club + Deuce wristbands - we’ll probably give them out at some pickup sessions and league games at AREENA.

We cap the number of players at 15 so that you never have to wait more than one game during the 2 hour pickup session. We provide a facilitator who keeps score, creates teams, and runs the clock.
