Southwestern Women's Surgery Center provides compassionate abortion care through 21 weeks of pregnancy. We are experts in early and late pregnancy terminations.
We, at Southwestern Women’s Surgery Center, are heartbroken to inform you that we are permanently ceasing operations. Our last day of patient care is March 2, 2023.
Since 1973 Southwestern Women’s Surgery Center has been a pillar of the abortion community in Dallas and we would like to thank you for your tireless partnership and commitment to providing compassionate attention and support to our community’s needs. We could not have persevered without you.
It has been a great honor and privilege to serve the pregnant people of Texas and we will continue to care for those patients at our sister clinics - Southwestern Women's Options in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Presidential Women's Center in West Palm Beach, Florida.

In the Temporary Restraining Order hearing that took place today, a judge ruled that Texas cannot enforce its pre-Roe abortion ban.
This means that our clinic is able to provide abortion services at this time! Please keep in mind that Texas is still enforcing restrictions such as a minimum of two visits, a 24-hour waiting period after the sonogram, and restrictions in compliance with Texas Senate Bill 8.

Exclusive: Supreme Court has voted to overturn abortion rights, draft opinion shows “We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled,” Justice Alito writes in an initial majority draft circulated inside the court.
Unfortunately, Florida’s 24-hour wait officially took effect today. We stand in solidarity with our sister clinic, Presidential Women's Center, and the people of Florida who deserve unrestricted access to abortion care.

As of this week, things are looking very different for pregnant people seeking abortion care in Florida. People will be legally required to wait 24 hours after meeting a doctor prior to having their abortions.
This disruptive law will negatively impact our patients by unnecessarily delaying their care.
For many it will further complicate childcare arrangements, transportation, work schedules, missing school, and serious health conditions.
