Lines were short and polls are open 7am-9pm through this Friday. Don’t miss your chance to vote early in Dallas County Elections and bring the family.❣️

The Dallas County Elections lines from the first few days are largely gone! Every hour the election workers give the last person in line a card that they hand to the judge when they vote, to determine wait times. At Fretz Park Branch Library, (our busiest site) the longest time was 9 minutes. As of 10:30am on October 30th, 9,780 people have cast a ballot. Biden Administration Adds Dallas County to Major Disaster Declaration
Addition Will Allow Residents Opportunity for Financial Assistance


DALLAS, Texas ---The Biden Administration has approved the addition of Dallas County to the Presidential Disaster Declaration ensuring that residents who were impacted by last week’s severe weather are eligible to apply for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Individual Assistance program.

“I want to thank President Biden for this declaration. This will bring much needed assistance to our Dallas County residents who are still recovering from the severe storms and straight-line winds,” said Dallas County Judge Clay Lewis Jenkins. “I also want to thank Tony Robinson, Regional Administrator for FEMA Region 6, Scott T. Forster, Dallas County Chief of Emergency Services, the Dallas County team, along with all of our cities’ emergency management teams who documented the damage making this declaration possible. Individual Assistance opens up the door for FEMA to provide assistance to homeowners and renters for damage and losses not covered by insurance.”

The Individual Assistance program funding assists with expenses such as temporary housing, emergency home repairs, uninsured and underinsured personal property losses, disaster legal services, disaster unemployment assistance, and medical, dental, and funeral expenses caused by the disaster. § Call the FEMA helpline at 800-621-3362 between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. Help is available in most languages. If you use a relay service, such as video relay (VRS), captioned telephone or other service, give FEMA your number for that service.
