For Immediate Release:

VOSB-Veteran Owned Small Business
Dallas, TX -- Bare Roots Landscape Solutions recently completed the Veteran Institute Procurement (VIP) START Program, a comprehensive training and certification program that helps Veteran-owned businesses strengthen their ability to win government contracts and do business with both military and civilian agencies.
On October 26, 2023 Bare Roots Landscape Solutions was one of 47 businesses from 17 states to graduate from the Veteran Institute for Procurement (VIP) START Program.
Being a certified Veteran owned business will allow Bare Roots Landscape Solutions access to a variety of business opportunities that otherwise would not be available.
The first of its kind in the nation, VIP START is facilitated by subject matter experts from industry and government with a goal of increasing the participants’ ability to win and maintain government contracts. VIP START participants receive hands-on market-based instruction that helps establish best business practices for federal government contracting. There are over 20 topics taught, including law, accounting, insurance, human resources, marketing, and proposals.
"We are honored to give back to the men and women who served our country by providing them with the tools they need to succeed as government contractors," said Barbara Ashe, President of the Montgomery County Chamber Community Foundation. “We hope this training fosters their success as businesses and employers.”
VIP START is a three-day, 27-hour comprehensive certification program. Participants must be a C-level leader in a Veteran-owned small business operating for at least one year with one year of revenue generation; owner must be a W-2 in their company or full-time employee and spend 100% of their time in their business. VIP START is fully funded by the Montgomery County Chamber Community Foundation, partnerships with SBA, Lockheed Martin, the State of Maryland, and VIP sponsors. VIP START is offered at no cost to participants.

IT’S A BIG DAY AT THE DMA! 🚀
Today we are thrilled to announce the launch of an Architect Selection Competition to help us reimagine our facility of the future.
So what does this mean exactly?
The DMA is inviting local, national, and international architects to submit to partner with us to drive the vision for a full renovation of the DMA. In addition to critical facility needs that we will continue to address with our amazing partners at the City of Dallas, this broader update to our facility will empower us to better serve our community and accommodate our growing collection.
We can’t wait share more with you along this journey but for now, here is what you need to know:
🚀 Firms not based in the region are encouraged to develop creative collaborations with local architectural firms
🚀 To maintain an equitable process, finalists will receive compensation for their work ensuring firms of all backgrounds and sizes can participate
🚀 This Spring, the Dallas community (yes YOU) will be invited to provide feedback on our finalists and help us realize a facility we can all be proud of.
