Let The Bible Speak
“The churches of Christ salute you.” -Romans 16:16
John 7:28-30
Then Jesus cried out in the temple, teaching and saying, "You both know Me and know where I am from; and I have not come of Myself, but He who sent Me is true, whom you do not know. "I know Him, because I am from Him, and He sent Me." So they were seeking to seize Him; and no man laid his hand on Him, because His hour had not yet come.
John 7:27
“However, we know where this man is from; but whenever the Christ may come, no one knows where He is from."
John 7:25-26
So some of the people of Jerusalem were saying, "Is this not the man whom they are seeking to kill? Look, He is speaking publicly, and they are saying nothing to Him. The rulers do not really know that this is the Christ, do they?”
John 7:24
“Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment."
Matthew 7:1
“Judge not, that you be not judged.”
Some hastily conclude from Matthew 7:1 that Jesus forbade all judging. A careful examination of the context of that passage and other Scripture (including John 7:24) shows that Jesus instead urges caution in judging.
In order to follow Scripture, in fact, we must evaluate the words and actions of others (Matthew 7:6, 15-20; 1 Corinthians 5; 1 John 4:1).
John 7:22-24
“For this reason Moses has given you circumcision (not because it is from Moses, but from the fathers), and on the Sabbath you circumcise a man. If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath so that the Law of Moses will not be broken, are you angry with Me because I made an entire man well on the Sabbath? Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment."
John 7:21
Jesus answered them, "I did one deed, and you all marvel.”

John 7:18-20
“He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who is seeking the glory of the One who sent Him, He is true, and there is no unrighteousness in Him. Did not Moses give you the Law, and yet none of you carries out the Law? Why do you seek to kill Me?" The crowd answered, "You have a demon! Who seeks to kill You?"
When a man fails to obey God’s word, the issue is not intellectual but volitional; it’s not that he can’t understand but that he’s not willing to see it. We must look within to see if we have a pure heart to seek God’s will wherever it leads.
John 7:16-17
So Jesus answered them and said, "My teaching is not Mine, but His who sent Me. If anyone is willing to do His will, he will know of the teaching, whether it is of God or whether I speak from Myself.”
2 Corinthians 13:5
Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?--unless indeed you are disqualified.
John 7:14-15
But when it was now the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and began to teach. The Jews then were astonished, saying, "How has this man become learned, having never been educated?"
Christians marvel when people today reject the truth or at least struggle to accept it but looking
back to the life of Christ we see that the Jews and even Jesus’ siblings were slow to see Jesus for who He was. We must persevere with patience as Jesus did rejoicing over those who see the truth.
John 7:12-13
And there was much complaining among the people concerning Him. Some said, "He is good"; others said, "No, on the contrary, He deceives the people." However, no one spoke openly of Him for fear of the Jews.
John 7:11
Then the Jews sought Him at the feast, and said, "Where is He?"
John 7:8
“You go up to this feast. I am not yet going up to this feast, for My time has not yet fully come."
Christians agree on the importance of morals and doctrine, but may allow Satan to trip them up in other, more subtle ways. Evangelist Brett Hickey presents a gospel sermon titled, The Monster in my Mouth.

John 7:6-7
Then Jesus said to them, "My time has not yet come, but your time is always ready. The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it that its works are evil.”
John 7:5
For even His brothers did not believe in Him.
John 7:3-4
His brothers therefore said to Him, "Depart from here and go into Judea, that Your disciples also may see the works that You are doing. For no one does anything in secret while he himself seeks to be known openly. If You do these things, show Yourself to the world."
John 7:1-2
After these things Jesus walked in Galilee; for He did not want to walk in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill Him. Now the Jews' Feast of Tabernacles was at hand.
John 6:70-71
Jesus answered them, "Did I not choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil?" He spoke of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, for it was he who would betray Him, being one of the twelve.
Sometimes, Peter’s impetuous nature led him to speak when he should have kept quiet but on this occasion he was right on point.
John 6:68-69
But Simon Peter answered Him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

Jesus did not compromise His message to keep the crowds.
John 6:66-67
From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more. Then Jesus said to the twelve, "Do you also want to go away?"
John 6:64–65
But there are some of you who do not believe." For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who would betray Him. And He said, "Therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father."
A key verse to the chapter.
John 6:63
It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.
