Yesterday’s shooting at a Chick-fil-A in Irving, which claimed two innocent lives, is a devastating reminder of the consequences of an open border. Thank God the suspect is in custody, and we continue to pray for the victims' families during this difficult time. However, the sad truth is that this senseless act of violence in our community should never have happened. President Biden's open border policies over the past 3.5 years have made our communities less safe. We must prioritize the safety of our citizens and secure our borders to prevent such horrific violence. This madness must stop!

It was a tremendous honor visiting with Opal on the Texas Senate floor when her official portrait was unveiled, and I am excited to see her home restored!
