Bingo headed to his forever home last night.

His new kitty sibling isn’t sure about sharing his goodies but he will tolerate it for now. 🤣❤️

Sassy is down to 13lbs from 15lbs and around 10 years old. She is now ready to find her perfect final home. Sassy is a lover, does well on short walks, hanging out with her people, and napping.

Alfie, Hoot, and Orange all headed to their forever homes this weekend!

Orange decided he would rather not take a picture. But we know once he gets home his true personality will shine. 🍊

Bonnie came to us with her 5- 6 week old puppies. She weighed only 38lbs when she should be closer to 60lbs. She is now up to 50lbs and ready for her forever home.

Bonnie is laidback and fits right in to most households. She loves to play and then crash with all of her favorite toys.

Elliott was found abandoned with his littermate Stabler. He is a quiet guy that likes to take in his surroundings and chill around his people.

When Elliott was found a couple of weeks ago he only weighed 11lbs!

We posted this a few weeks ago but in case you missed it shelters in Montgomery, Auburn, and now Birmingham are experiencing an outbreak.

We aren’t sure which respiratory issue is going around Mobile City but they too are having issues.

Dogs have ZERO immunity to H3N2 unless they are vaccinated and even after being vaccinated they may get sick but have less severe symptoms.

⚠️⚠️ PSA ⚠️⚠️

We spent yesterday afternoon vaccinating some of our dogs against H3N2 canine influenza and we think you should too.

If you take your dog out and about, go to doggie daycare, travel with them, board them, etc…we recommend talking to your vet about vaccinating against H3N2 canine influenza.

Multiple shelters in the Montgomery, AL area are reporting cases.

Walker is officially a foster fail! ❤️❤️

Walker came to us a few months back weighing around 90lbs and heartworm positive. He went through fast kill heartworm treatment and he now weighs 140lbs!!

Our Sassy girl is settling in to her foster home. Her swelling has gone down and she is starting to feel much better.

We thought she was around 10 years old but now we are thinking she’s closer to 12.

She’s as sweet as can be and we are hopeful that once she is adoption eligible she will find the perfect home for her golden years.

We hate to see seniors at the shelter especially ones in the shape Sassy is in.

As soon as Sassy came off the van she went straight to the vet. Thank you Daphne Animal Hospital for working her in as we were unprepared for the shape she was in.

Sassy is 1️⃣0️⃣ years old and our best guess is a shih tzu mix.

Kirby is sure to make you laugh! He’s doing great in his foster home. Kirby doesn’t meet a stranger, does great with other dogs, and doesn’t mind cats.

Meet Fred…

We can’t think of anything better than a big ole basset hound! Fred joined our crew in early July but spent most of the month sick with the flu. He has now recovered and is use to being pampered.

Fred enjoys golf cart rides around the neighborhood, leisurely strolls, meeting everyone, and following his special person around.

Fred does not trust small dogs especially ones that are high energy and bossy. They are his archenemy, he would do best without them in his household.

Moose is headed on his first real roadtrip with his forever family!

These 4 joined our crew today. We’d love to be able to pull some of these other pups but we need a place for them to land.

In case you haven’t been paying attention every shelter in Alabama is overcrowded and if they aren’t overcrowded it’s because they are euthanizing for space. No kill government run shelters DO NOT exist in Alabama. If they did they would be closed to intake at all times which doesn’t help the communities they are suppose to serve.

We don’t know anyone in the rescue community that supports euthanizing for space BUT we understand why and we CANNOT emphasize this enough we wish we didn’t understand. Few things will bring you to your knees faster than euthanizing an animal that you didn’t abandon, neglect, or not care for properly.

Thankfully, we are a foster-based rescue that gets to take in animals we pick BUT we still have to euthanize when we aren’t able to rehabilitate. It’s a heartbreaking experience even when we know it is the right decision. 💔
