This Friday we're teaming up again with our music loving friends at Sudwerk Brewing Co. to bring the incomparable Marty O'Reilly and his unique blend of soul, folk, and blues to town. He'll be joined by returning local friend LxttleBoyBlue to open - doors at 6, songs at 7... tix in comments!

Yeah, it's going to be hot on Thursday but we're keeping cool with our friends Boca do Rio and Dustbowl Revival at Community Park for the Davis City July 4th Celebration! Music starts at 6:30 and we'll cap it off with a big 'ol fireworks display at 9:30... and it's all FREE!!! Hydrate and celebrate!

Lineup for the night: YEKENO of No Vacation + Alex Togashii (former Davis kids btw!), plus Sacramento’s own Güero & Dog Party 🔥 closing out the night with psych-rock from The Snares and ROCK from Ten Foot Tiger 🫡

Alex Togashii is an SF-based artist/producer. Raised in Davis(!), his musical journey began at the age of 5 when he started learning the cello. Today, he crafts somber but sweet songs influenced by the sounds of genres such as indie rock, 70s soul, and modern-day bedroom pop. You may have spotted him on tour as the newest member of No Vacation 😎

And the winner of the 2024 Tiny Desk Contest is... Nearly 7,000 independent artists submitted to this year's Tiny Desk Contest. Meet the Sacramento artist that rose to the top.

Megan Slankard is a self professed indie-rock nerd whose songwriting has received national and international recognition. She was a finalist in 2021 (and 2018) and 2nd place winner in 2020 in the Unsigned Only Music Competition, a finalist in 2020, 2019, and 2017 in the International Songwriting Competition, and a finalist in 2019 in the International Acoustic Music Awards. Megan won first place in 2017 in the Unsigned Only Music Competition(AAA Category) for a punk song she wrote, recorded, and performed herself in her kitchen, smack dab in the middle of San Francisco (sorry neighbors)...

Julian Cunningham is an adjunct professor of jazz performance at American River College and vocal director at Natomas Charter Performing and Fine Arts Academy… oh, and he is also the lead singer and MC of Ideateam! He’ll be backed by our Pence Gallery Stage Artists-in-Residence LabRats 💙

Reckling is a high energy LA-based garage/punk four-piece tour de force led by vocalist/songwriter Kelsey Reckling, plus heavy hitting LA rock alums drummer Max Keuhn (FIDLAR), guitarist Erik Jimenez (Together Pangea), and bassist Joey Mullen (Paramore/HalfNoise).

We really love Reckling’s single, “P-22”, which is inspired by the untimely death of L.A.’s “celebrity” mountain lion of the same name. P-22 was euthanized by officials due to severe injuries from a vehicle strike and declining health condition. Reck says, “I hope his fame and legacy can help change future protections and policies for urban wildlife.” 🐾🐛 🐦
