A record-breaking season

The Springfield boys team wrapped up the regular season on a historic note. Just six weeks removed from setting a school record against Northmont, the Wildcats established a new scoring mark in a 2733-2523 victory over Wayne on Monday night at Victory Lanes.

With the win, Springfield finished the conference with an 8-6 record. It is the first time in school history that the team finished with a winning record in the conference.

Sophomore Joe Gifford led the team with a 502 series, bowling games of 268 and 234. Seniors Robert Jordan and Hayden Howard made their last regular season match memorable with career-bests in a two-game series. Jordan fired off a 480 series, and Howard spun a 298 final game for a 473 series. Fellow seniors Joseph Price and Tristan Skipper finished with a 425 and 420 series, respectively.

Wayne got strong performances from Ryan Gilliam (497), Kinnick Dahlstrom (470), and Isaiah Vondenberger (414), and a career-high 269 game from senior Elijah Schidecker.
