Group calls for removal of Satanic Temple tree from National Railroad Museum 12/21/2023

ICYMI, today, our fearless leaders, Mike Gallagher, Andre Jacques and others held a press conference outside the Railroad Museum to once again condemn the museum for allowing a "Satanic Tree" at the nondenominational festival of trees.

There are women suffering and dying because they can't access abortions. There is a deranged lunatic trying to be President again. But our local leaders feel it is worth their time to be the faces of the anti-religious freedom movement in Green Bay.

Our kids should not be subjected to this kind of asshattery by people in "leadership" positions. That's more damaging than an inclusive tree at a fundraising event.

Spotlight on Gaslighting: Recognizing and Countering a Hidden Menace 12/14/2023

Yesterday’s vote to open an impeachment inquiry means gaslighting at defcon 5 for the GOP. This is true for Mike Gallagher who justified his vote in a statement that opened with a lie - that Hunter Biden was just indicted for his “shady foreign business dealings.” I guess booze, women, and rehab that leads to tax evasion COULD be considered shady dealings, but that’s not what he was charged with.

My latest piece 👇🏼👇🏼

Spotlight on Gaslighting: Recognizing and Countering a Hidden Menace Yesterday, the entire Republican caucus of the House voted to open an official impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden. What is his alleged crime? No one actually knows, but if you ask Republicans, they certainly have some fantastical imaginations. As a result, you will encounter a significant....

It’s been 3100 Days of Silence and Complacency 12/11/2023

An open letter to Mike Gallagher. His silence in the face of a wanna-be dictator ruling his party and threatening democracy in America is not representation, especially in light of his vocalness on the dangers of China and TikTok to America. It's hard to reconcile China being the more pressing danger than what's happening here.

Let’s Stop Treating Polls as Actual News Events 12/02/2023

I’ve been screaming about this for years, that polls driving the news cycles is insane - especially national polls, which are meaningless. We don’t decide presidential or any other elections by popular NATIONAL votes. It matters the makeup of the participants, and even that is often flawed.

One recent poll focused on 61 battleground districts by using participants that “demographically matched 61 battleground districts.” This poll didn’t explain where the participants came from or which districts it purported to represent. Participants could be from non-battlegrounds. This suggests that because someone is a black female age 24, regardless of geography, has the same opinions and top issues as a black 24 year old female in the 8CD of WI. People aren’t monoliths based on demographic breakdown. Methodology matters. The nuance matters. And it’s why polls aren’t news.

I’ve been screaming it but happy to see someone with a national platform putting a spotlight on this with the media.

Let’s Stop Treating Polls as Actual News Events The stakes of 2024 are too important for the media to obsess over every “snapshot” of the electorate.

Democrat Kristin Lyerly weighs 2024 run against Green Bay Republican U.S. Rep. Mike Gallagher If Lyerly runs it would raise the stakes for Gallagher — as well as Republicans trying to entice a top-tier candidate to challenge Sen. Tammy Baldwin.

Florida: blow to DeSantis as Democrat wins Jacksonville mayor’s race 05/17/2023

Anti-woke divisiveness in DeSantis’s backyard couldn’t win the day in this Republican stronghold in FL. Voters matter.

“Donna Deegan’s win is historic, not just because of who she is but also because of how she won: by running a positive campaign and building a coalition of Democrats, No Party Affiliation Voters and even some Republicans.”

In the April 2020 spring election, Jill Karofsky defeated Daniel Kelly for a seat on the . That outcome was the difference between the Nov. 2020 election being upheld or overturned with Kelly's vote. If Kelly had won in 2020, Donald Trump would be in the White House today. That is not hyperbole. That is a fact.

If you don't believe today's election is important, think about 2020.

Please request absentee ballots through your clerk’s office or myvote.wi.gov. A friend in Sister Bay received a mailer that let her request a ballot by mail, appearing to be from the village. It is not. This is a way to suppress votes and cause confusion when people who need absentee ballots never receive them and then miss the deadline to request them.

If you sent something back in the mail asking for a ballot, please check MyVote or with your clerk before the deadline to make sure your ballot is coming or to request one properly. You still have time!

Opinion | Republicans are doubling down on abortion. They’ll regret it. 02/15/2023

“Did Republicans pay any attention to the messages that voters sent them last November? It certainly doesn’t seem so. But Democrats sure did. Expect them to remind voters in 2024 about Republicans’ utter disdain for their constituents’ views.”

A Colossal Off-Year Election in Wisconsin 01/30/2023

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2023/01/16/us/politics/wisconsin-supreme-court.html

🚨🗳Wisconsin - April 4th is our Spring Election this year. We have a CRITICAL State Supreme Court on the ballot.

Did you know in 2020, but for the election of Jill Katofsky in the April election, the State Supreme Court would have overturned the results of the presidential election? Daniel Kelly, running again in 2023, made it clear which way he would vote when such an issue came before him. Thankfully, he did not win the seat and Democracy held for a bit longer.

See why our Spring Election is making national headlines, and why it is SO CRITICAL that you vote. REQUEST AN ABSENTEE BALLOT NOW! https://myvote.wi.gov

A Colossal Off-Year Election in Wisconsin Arguably the most important election of 2023 is Wisconsin's pivotal Supreme Court race.

Sinema switches to independent, shaking up the Senate 12/09/2022

She claims she will caucus with the Dems and none of her behavior will change. This seems to be a shift to avoid a primary in 2024 because she no doubt will struggle to win.

Sinema switches to independent, shaking up the Senate The Arizona senator won't say whether she's running for reelection but said in an interview she doesn't expect a change in how the Senate operates.

Spring 2023 Candidate Interest 11/30/2022

If anyone is interested in running for a local office, please considering sharing your information with the Party. Signature collections start in December for Spring elections, and we have 2024 to think about as well.

If you are thinking about it and have questions about what it's like to run, please feel free to reach out to me so I can help or connect you with some of the other local candidates who have experience running for office who will be happy to give you some perspective! Especially young people and women!! Don't let your age stop you. We need you, and we can turn Northeast Wisconsin blue with strong candidates that can build voter enthusiasm.

Spring 2023 Candidate Interest Building the bench with quality candidates is important if we want to ensure a long-term progressive future for our state.

I strongly encourage people to attend these tomorrow if able, and ask him some tough questions.

TOMORROW: Rep. Gallagher is hosting three town halls in Suamico, Greenville, and Kewaunee to answer your questions and outline his plans for the 118th Congress.

The upcoming Spring 2023 nonpartisan judicial elections will have significant consequences for the state - there are 45 Circuit Court, 2 Appeals Court, and 1 State Supreme Court seat on the ballot. In the last two NON-PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY YEARS only 15-27% turned out to elect some of the most crucial "offices." Getting out the vote for this election is critical. Also, the 2024 elections are "only" two years away. There's a lot of work to be done to turn the 8th Congressional District and other state and local seats blue, plus a senate seat up for re-election.

If you have skills or the time to contribute not on this list, we are still interested! Please complete the form as well.

We have a lot of work to do!

🥳

Last night was a win for democracy. No big "red tsunami" or "red wave" but sane Americans standing up in numbers to vote to keep abortion accessible, voting accessible, and a balance of power between parties. We may not know the final outcome of the House and Senate for weeks, but we do know with certainty that --

✅At least FOUR states flipped their state legislatures from Red to Blue
✅A number of states flipped their Governor from Red to Blue, or re-elected the Dem Governor
✅Gen-Z has officially entered the building on Capitol Hill with the first elected representative from that Gen coming out of FL
✅Abortion access is enshrined in multiple state constitutions now
✅Red State Voters support access to abortion
✅Donald Trump's candidates suffered significant losses in Governor, Senate, and Secretary of State races, demonstrating voters don't care much for the election-denying/Jan.6 insurrectionist bunch
✅And most important for us, Scary-AF Tim Michels will not be running Wisconsin for the next 4 years.

Even if your candidate lost, or it feels like outcomes weren't how you'd hoped, there are a LOT of victories for democracy from this election. Enjoy the silence from the lack of political ads -- you've got about 3 months before 2024 start up in full swing. (I kid . . . I hope.)

OK folks, get your Evers Ale today to celebrate sanity and democracy in Wisconsin.

PS, a little bird just told us that in Madison is going to get a big shipment in today around 11 am for all of you libruls who need to take the edge off while watching the polls but still manifest some good juju
