Smiles were all around at our Kindergarten Celebration of Learning! The future 1st graders were excited to perform their songs and share their favorite moments of the year to the packed church. Afterward, they received awards and accolades for a year of joyful learning and headed with their families to celebrate in a reception just for them. Listen to their sweet voices singing the "Saint Thomas More School Song." #stmtraditions #stmgaclassof2032
"Oh we wake up in the morning, and we go to Saint Thomas More School;
Where we learn to read and write, and we apply the Golden Rule;
And when we leave there in the afternoon, with a feeling of success;
We're never really satisfied unless we've done our very best."

Our two precious Pre-K classes crossed over to kindergarten in their "Bridging Ceremony!" This year, they learned so much about God and themselves, and they grew so much. When asked what they were looking forward to in kindergarten next year, one child said, “My kindergarten teacher,” and another said, “Doing some learning.” Well, we can’t wait to have these brand new kindergartners back for some more joyful learning next year! Watch to the end to see them "cross the bridge." #STMgaPreK
We are filled with gratitude for this school year brimming with incredible learning, faith, service, and love. STM Tigers, we’re praying you enjoy a safe and restful summer, and we look forward to seeing you again in August! 😎#letsummerbegin
Congratulations to our amazing 8th graders! We celebrate the fruits of their time at our school, and we are proud of their deep commitment to faith, to serving others, and to the friends they made here. Our newest alumni go out knowing God loves them, and they are beautifully ready to begin the next chapter of life…high school! We’re excited to see the positive difference they’re going to continue to make in the world. Please join us in praying for God to bless and guide them as they head to high school. #stmgaclassof2024
Tomorrow, we will honor our 8th graders for their growth and achievements at graduation. We look forward to capping off the 2023-24 school year and can’t wait to celebrate them. We love and are so proud of these students! #STMgaClassof2024 #loveourSTMfamily
Happy Mother's Day! For our heartwarming celebration of mothers and mother figures, the 5th graders took center stage, leading a beautiful Mass and reception. In reading poems penned straight from the heart, they moved many to tears and smiles, showcasing their deep love and appreciation. The melodies of their songs filled the air, honoring the incredible women who shape their lives. Lord, bless all the wonderful women who care for and influence us in our lives. Amen. Watch to the end to hear their angelic voices singing. 👼 #mothersday
Every day we are reminded how much our 8th graders have learned, grown, and become people who will make a difference in this world. We love and are so proud of these students! Here’s a few we’re celebrating today. Keep checking back over the next week as we continue to celebrate all our 8th graders. #STMgaClassof2024 #loveourSTMfamily
How can there be only 10 days left until graduation?! We quickly are approaching our 8th graders’ last day at STM. We love and are so proud of them! Here’s a few we’re celebrating today. Keep checking back over the next two weeks as we continue to celebrate all our 8th graders. #STMgaClassof2024 #loveourSTMfamily
We would never talk trash on 🌎 Earth Day, but we'll talk composting! To continue caring for our environment this year, we launched our Compost Initiative with @CompostNow to reduce our cafeteria landfill* waste. We’re grateful to the parents who’ve taught our students to identify the correct bin for trash, compost, and recycling to dispose of their lunchtime waste. Let's keep caring for our planet, STM Tigers! #STMdoingMOREforothers *Did you know that in the United States, it's estimated that between 30-40% of the food supply ends up in landfills? Composting is one way to divert food waste and has many environmental benefits including increasing the soil’s ability to retain moisture, soil regeneration, and methane gas reduction.
Calling on their compassion and kindness, our thoughtful students created Easter cards and bird feeders for the residents of Riverdale Center for Nursing and Healing as part of our Holy Thursday retreat. One of our staff members has a family member there, and she delivered the cards and put up the feeders around their facilities. We hope the love we sent brought joy and smiles to all! #STMdoingMOREforothers
As our Pre-K students joyfully filled their Resurrection Eggs to take home to share the story of Easter with their families, they thoughtfully made the connection with the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross for them and the meaning of Easter. Lewis: Mrs. Blake, thank you for making these eggs for us so we can remember the day Jesus died. Mrs. Blake: You know, Lewis, we know that’s not the end of the story, and at the end of our eggs, we can see that. At the end of the story, Jesus rose from the dead. Mrs. Blake: What does the empty egg tell us? Sydney: Jesus rose from the dead. Lewis: And the angels came out. Mrs. Blake: It tells us that the angels announced that Jesus was NOT in the tomb, Elilta: Because Jesus rose from the dead because it was Easter. Mrs. Blake: That is our special Easter celebration. 💕 Alleluia! Alleluia!
Spring is here and is the perfect time to showcase the love we've put into our new garden! It's a testament to our commitment to the environment, with our recycling and composting initiatives blooming alongside our STEM-driven garden. With the upcoming construction of a new K-5th school building necessitating a relocation of our garden, our students rose to the occasion. They carefully reviewed possible new locations, sketched designs for plans in Tinkercad and created 12 new colorful beds. The stunning sunflower mural they painted not only adds to the beauty of our campus, but also honors our school's heritage. Did you know the sunflower symbolizes St. Julie Billiart, the foundress of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, and that these are the Sisters who originally staffed our school at its founding in 1950? St. Julie Billiart reminds us to "Be like the sunflower that follows every movement of the sun, and keep your eyes always turned towards our good God." #livelaudatosi #STEMsationalGarden #STMgaGarden #schoolgarden
☘️Top of the morning to you, and happy St. Patrick's Day! Leprechaun traps and visits...oh my! Our older primary students built leprechaun traps. The younger students certainly could've used the traps in their classrooms where leprechauns ran amuck and wreaked some fun havoc. Watch to the end to hear these kindergarteners surprise and excitement! ☘️
Since 1950, the campus of St. Thomas More Catholic Church and School has provided a place to foster the development of the minds, hearts, and souls of children in our community. As we approach the 75th anniversary of our founding, we are pursuing our most substantial campus work to date: a new two-story, 12-classroom building for Kindergarten through 5th Grade, renovation of some existing school space, as well as new parish meeting space. This exciting capital investment in our campus reflects our gratitude for our diverse, thriving parish and school, and will serve current and future STM families for many generations to come. Together, our 8th graders and their math teachers embraced the sweetness of community on Pi Day as they celebrated together with a delicious feast of pies. #PiDay #loveourSTMFamily
Our human body is incredible, and our 7th graders teamed up for an amazing project—researching, creating, and presenting 3D human body systems to our eager 5th graders! 🧠🔍 Not only did they learn about 11 separate organ systems, but they also ignited a spark of curiosity in younger minds. #JoyfulLearning
At STM, our students learn to seek and love God present in all people and things. This February during our Black History Month, we’re shining a spotlight on the pioneers in the Black community, including those with STEM related careers. We kicked off the month with an inspirational mass filled with nostalgia celebrated by alumnus Father Avery Daniel (STM Class of 2007) and have continued with dynamic guest speakers, trivia, mystery readers, poetry and art contests, as well as classroom doors adorned with BHM facts, history, thoughts, and inspirations to create a walking gallery through our halls! We are thrilled to have members of our STM Community, friends and families sharing their science, technology, religion, engineering, medical, public health, art and/or math experiences and the best advice, habits, and practices that have helped them along their journey. Guest speakers include a packaging developer for Chick-fil-A, a respiratory therapist and nursing home administrator, and a social media/software technologist. These examples are just a sneak peek into the brilliance we're unleashing as we continue celebrating through the rest of February! #blackhistorymonth
Our new STM Drama Club stole the show with their inaugural performance! These talented 4th through 8th graders brought "Into the Woods Jr." to life with sheer brilliance. A standing ovation goes to the crew, set designers, and actors for their phenomenal work. We are thrilled to see their amazing talent and look forward to future shows of our incredible STM Drama Club. Watch to the end to catch some of the performance in all its glory! #STMdramaclub
Do you know which densely populated country bordering India where over 70% of the population lives in rural areas and Bengali is the official language? You may not, but this year's 1st place winner in our Geography Bee did! Congratulations to fifth grader Danny on his win, sixth grader Ben on his 2nd place finish, and to all our participants. Frankly speaking, we in the audience were impressed by their extensive geographic knowledge! #geobee
