I'm not just a cleaner, I'm a mom too!

My little baby is sick. Some kind of December crud.

The last three days have sucked for her. Yet, in these moments, she knows just how much I love her and the lengths I'll go.

It doesn't matter how little I sleep, how often I'm woken up. I love loving her.

I love being the one to talk her into the yucky red medicine (and the purple and the orange), to carry her to the potty, to run the baths, to refresh the cool compress, to whisper quietly that she'll feel better in the morning.

It's the kind of love where you would readily take any discomfort from them. The fierceness and determination of that love that the mean fever cannot compete with.

I cherish every moment with her. I also know how much my mom loved me, as I instinctively care for her and feel my mother's touch on my forehead and hear her soft, confident words that eased me through so many nights of fighting an invisible monster. Someday, she will feel this same instinct and remember my touch.

Being a mom on her worst day is better than any good day before her. So, I watch her sleep while I go without and I'd do it over and over again.

And we'll work on the handwashing lol.
