Finally got everything moved into the new shop just in time for a large lumber delivery to start on some exciting new projects. Now I’m sanding and wondering if a new 85” tv to watch the Buckeye games this season is a legitimate business expense🤔.

Free kindling! Moving to the new shop means cleaning out all the scraps that we held on to for 2-3 years. We have 4-5 boxes about the size in this picture. Mostly walnut, oak, maple and pine ready for your firepit or fireplace this fall.

Moving tools over slowly but finally started the first project in the new space! The shop is feeling like home thanks to the sign our daughter Ella made in shop with her favorite teacher Mr. Hoak.

First client visit and first sale in the new shop. These gorgeous side tables are heading to Westerville.

Shop priority #1 - Upgraded Air filtration and dust collection. We picked up this Shop Fox hanging 3 speed air filter on sale about a month ago and so far it seems like a great unit. We have a few exciting projects coming up to test it out.

Final sanding on a few projects before moving everything over to the new shop next week.

Shop progress day 57 - Rough electric inspection passed so we now have interior and exterior lights! Backfilling and grading is up next while we wait on the final electric and occupancy inspections.

Still available! Solid cherry side tables refinished with custom mixed medium brown stained tops & Sherwin Williams Iron Ore painted bases. Not sure of the manufacturer because the sticker and markings are not legible, but the original owner thinks they are from the 40's or 50's!

Workshop - Day 41. I laughed to myself when the lady scheduling our build said they planned on having the framing and roof done in 1 day.
The crew of 4 showed up this morning at 5:45 am with a trailer of prefabbed walls and materials and had the building completely finished and cleaned up when they pulled away at 12:30pm 😳.

Selecting hardware may be the most difficult part of any project. The perfect hardware needs to be the right style, size and color for the piece. I think we nailed the hardware for these solid cherry side tables we refinished.

Do you like your Veggies with a side of microplastics? 🤮 If you are still using plastic cutting boards for your fruits and vegetables it’s time to make the switch to wood.
👉Pull out your plastic cutting boards and look at the thousands of tiny nicks, marks and grooves. Now run your finger over the surface. Each grove represents a degradation of the material. And that material has to go somewhere! Where do you think it ends up? In your carrots, strawberries and whatever else you are slicing.
