It seems like most people focus on when their washing their hair more than the focus on what they are using and if they’re using it correctly 🤔

What if you thought of your shampoo and conditioner as the foundation for your best hair ? And there are an overwhelming amount of options out there ! So how do you know if you’re even using the right one ? Talk to your stylist about it , it’s actually part of our job to make sure you’re using the best products for your hair type .

When cleansing the scalp and hair remember that’s exactly where it goes , start on the scalp and work through the ends ( this is when you also give yourself that scalp massage to help encourage blood flow to the scalp for healthy growth😊)
Rinse A LOT , more than you think you should to make sure you’ve rinsed out all of the shampoo , especially the nape area on the back of the head , lift and separate the hair to make sure all the shampoo is out .

Next up conditioner is not meant to go on the scalp , this is why a lot of people have flat hair or maybe it looks or feels greasy quickly. Conditioner is meant to be applied only to the ends . Let it sit for a few minutes as you gently work it through . Again rinse a little longer than you think you should . ☀️

Tuesday hair tip !
I think we all know ( I hope we do ) that using our hot tools on their highest setting can actually burn hair if it’s left on too long or if the hair is already compromised. Did you know it can also cause your color to fade quicker and could potentially change its appearance altogether? It’s true !!

So make sure you are using a heat protectant , I recommend hair love prep spray which adds extra hydration to the prepping for the use of hot tools . It doesn’t coat the hair with silicone which can build up and cause even more damage. Also never use the highest settings on any of your tools and make sure you let the style cool to help it last longer before your finish styling !

Who doesn’t love wash day ? 😂. Seriously though I have to say I wash every 3-4 days and because I’ve got my routine down it takes me no time at all . I also keep in mind that the work I put in on wash day helps to guarantee that I’ll have great hair on the days in between. I have been using exclusively for almost 2 years and I can’t believe how happy I am with the results. My scalp and hair have never looked or felt so healthy even as my hormones are changing 😉. I once read somewhere recently that for some people the only time they experience physical touch is with a hairdresser or barber . I just wanted to come on here and say “thank you !” To everyone that helped make last year pretty much the best year my salon has ever had 🎉 . Some of you may not realize that not only am I an holistic hairdresser with almost 30 years experience but I’m also an educator for Innersense Organic Beauty , a yoga instructor ( shout out to ) and a reiki practitioner. I guess you could say I’ve been spending these last few decades learning how to make people feel their absolute best on the outside and the inside . 2023 was the year my salon turned 20 , I also was a finalist in the hair professional category for the Capital Region Besties , and a Nextdoor favorite. It has always been a priority of mine to continue my education to stay on top of current trends and techniques while using the safest professional quality products. I also make sure that every client that comes in feels seen , heard and appreciated. Getting your hair done should be a fabulous experience!
