Reaper Mouthpieces
3D Printed Professional Mouthpieces
Custom order going out the door!
This is a duplication of a Yamaha Bobby Shew Lead with the rim size reduced to 16.00mm. I always like making mouthpieces that work for each player so they don't have to settle for one that almost works!
Very excited to play with the Vail Theatre Company performing Cabaret the next 3 nights!
I'm excited to announce that I'm ramping production up again on Reaper Mouthpieces!
I've taken some time to make improvements to my process, and work on some really cool projects that I'll be showing off soon. Thank you for everyone's support so far, and hopefully I can help many more players to come!
Happy to add tops to the Reaper line! They fit all standard backbores (Pickett, ACB, Warburton, etc.), and I'm happy to make any customizations upon request.
A customer wanted a custom Bach Artisan rim to fit on his Bach mouthpieces. After a few iterations it was ready to go! What do you think?
It's been a long long time since I've posted a video of me playing a Reaper Mouthpiece!
I'm getting back into practicing more often now, so heres my first go at it. More videos to come!
From 1A to 10.5F! Finally finished printing all 120 mouthpieces for my Standard line! Even with this, there are over a thousand different combination you can make between the rim, cup, throat, backbore, and blank... not to mention custom engraving too!
Been printing out my full line of trumpet mouthpieces, I'm halfway there! From an A to F cup and 1 to 10.5 rim there's 120 different combinations to choose from. That's not even mentioning throats, backbores, or blanks!
Here's the scanner in action!
Everytime it moves back up the machine completes a circuit. This tells it to record it's current position, move to the next point, rinse and repeat. Once I have those coordinates, I can extract them and reproduce the mouthpiece in CAD software!
Humble beginnings to laser engraving!
I would say it's pretty well homed! Every few scans I use this mouthpiece with a piece of machined steel that comes to a fine point in the center. This helps me make sure I am still scanning to the center of the mouthpiece and getting accurate results.
Happy New Year everyone! To celebrate, I am finally happy to show off my quarantine project. I managed to build from scratch a mouthpiece scanner that can accurately replicate any mouthpiece. Now if you come to me and want a mouthpiece copied and/or modified I can say yes!
It took a lot of prototypes, designs, 3d printing parts, and coding to get it to work, but it paid off. The two scans I posted are a Callet Supeechops 3, and a Holton Heim 2 respectively. The final picture is a comparison of the actual Heim 2 and my duplication that not only looks but plays like a Heim 2!
Let me know what you think! More videos, scans, and duplications to come.
I've been experimenting with some different dyes lately and added pigment to this batch. The pigment is what gives it the sparkle and silver look from the top. I think it looks pretty cool! What do you think?
Huge thanks to Peter and Eric and for all their help and this amazing video! Here is Eric playing on a Reaper 3C mouthpiece, what do you think?
I'm starting to get the hang of finishing my mouthpieces!
Decided to have some fun with a new mouthpiece blank, what do you think?
Thank you SO much to .giaconia and for this awesome video of Mike Corrigan at B.A.C. playing one of my Reaper mouthpieces on their horn! Thank you for the support, and the great things you guys are doing over there!
Classes and work have managed to take most of my time, but I've had plenty of things developing with more updates to come!
I've had the pleasure of making a custom mouthpiece for my first lesson instructor who I studied with for nearly 8 years. I want to give back to a community that has treated me well by doing this, and who better to give back to than the man who built me up! Thank you Dr. Kennedy!
