The North Texas Fair & Rodeo beauty pageant gives local youth an opportunity to develop confidence in public speaking, social skills and poise, and registration is OPEN!

These youth compete for their respective titles and get to represent the fair the following year in the annual parade! Registration can be completed online at https://ntfair.com/events/contests/beauty-pageant/. Be sure to register in the youth's name!

ICYMI, over the weekend, a former Big Tex team member, Ashlyn Williams, was crowned Miss Rodeo Texas 2024! While she interned with us last year, Ashlyn was serving as the North Texas Rodeo Queen! Congratulations Ashlyn, we can't wait to see what all you accomplish!

Here’s some Fun Facts to start your week! Ashlyn having just won Miss Rodeo Texas is the fourth time a North Texas Fair & Rodeo title has been taken to MRT and won! Grace Minter won our 2017 Teen title and went on to win Texas Teen with it in 2018. Kate Dill took our 2020 Princess title and became 2021 Texas Princess. (She was the first North Texan to win Princess!) Ashlyn is a repeat! She won our Teen title in 2018 and with that won Miss Rodeo Texas Teen in 2019. After graduating college and continuing her Rodeo Queen journey, she competed for Miss with us in August of 2023 and won the title that she just wore to be crowned Miss Rodeo Texas! She’s lucky for us, or we’re lucky for her! Either way, it’s shown to be a great pairing! 👑

“I enjoyed the San Antonio Riverwalk today by visiting the Tower Life Building that was built in 1928 and housed the first Sears Roebuck & Co. Store in San Antonio. Ernie was such a nice man that visited with us today. He has worked at this facility for 51 years! The building will be closing in a few weeks and will reopen in 2 1/2 years. After that, I went back in time at the Buggy Barn Museum in Blanco County. Some of the buggies stored there were used in the television series “The Chosen” and “Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman”. I also met Pistol Packin’ Paula who is a World Champion Gun Twirler!” - Kate Dill

Kate, Hayden, and Ava were all in San Antonio at the Miss Rodeo Texas Pageant supporting and cheering on Ashlyn today! They have also been “ hobknobbing” with all the other queens, queen clothing designers and makers, and everyone present. Today they all three attended the President’s Luncheon and modeled in the Informal Style show. Tonight, they attended the Pageant Fashion Show. Beforehand, Kate grabbed a picture with military personnel that were in attendance. Part of the fashion show was a wonderful tribute to those that serve our country.

Ashlyn prepared for the pageant in many ways. One thing she did was compile an incredible wardrobe. “Ashlyn looked like an angel!” That’s the “sneak peek” quote we will give you and tell you to get ready to see pictures and videos by Sherry Smith Photography. Prepare to be wowed! 😍

Continuing its legacy of western heritage, family fun and exceptional entertainment, the 96th annual North Texas Fair & Rodeo will take place August 16-25, 2024 at the North Texas Fairgrounds, with nightly rodeos starting at 7:30 p.m. followed by some of the hottest country music!

Courtenay DeHoff was the guest speaker during the “Live Legendary Luncheon” at the Miss Rodeo Texas Pageant yesterday. At our 2023 contest, one of our speech topics was “Confidence is Cowgirl, and Cowgirl is Cool”, a quote by Courtenay. Kate chose this topic when she competed for Teen and won the Speech category. Almost a year later, having the honor to meet Ms. DeHoff was a privilege and honor! 🤠

Kate and Hayden attended some of the Miss Rodeo Texas Pageant yesterday supporting their big sash sister, Ashlyn! In 2020, Kate competed for and won our Princess title. She then took the title to compete for Miss Rodeo Texas Princess in 2021 and won that title. She is pictured here with her director, Linda Ebest, and other Miss Rodeo Texas board members and former Miss Rodeo Texas and then Miss Rodeo America, Lisa Lucia. She also got a picture with Khloe Noelke, who Kate crowned as she handed off her title. Kate and Hayden also got a shot with Kye Tomlinson, who was recently crowned the Texas High School Rodeo Association Queen. Lots of fun is being had and there is more to come from the pageant!
