Stretch marks! Let's face it! A good majority of us have them! In fact an estimated 50% to 90% of women have them, but men can get them, too. There are a few ways to help fade stretch marks which leads us to another great ingredient in our Whipped Body Butters. Cocoa Butter! Cocoa butter is high in fatty acids, which is why it's often touted for its ability to hydrate and nourish the skin and improve elasticity. The fat in cocoa butter forms a protective barrier over skin to hold in moisture. Cocoa butter is also rich in natural plant compounds called phytochemicals. Cocoa Butter is incredibly rich in vitamins A, E, and stearic acid. It absorbs not only into the epidermis layer of the skin (top layer) but the dermis as well (middle layer.) Cocoa butter helps stretch marks by seeping into the dermis (middle layer) and not just the epidermis (top layer), and cocoa is simply the one butter that can achieve this. When the butter is absorbed into the dermis, it is able to retain even more moisture. Shea Butter is also a top solution for stretching skin (also in our Whipped Body Butters).
