Today is bittersweet for me, as it marks my last day as a reporter at FOX 4 News Kansas City! After months of soul searching, deep conversations with family and friends, and lots of prayer, I have decided to take a hiatus from the TV news business to pursue other career opportunities. I'm a bit nervous, but I am so excited for this big life change! For the past six years, I've lived out my childhood dream as a reporter in various cities, including Washington, D.C., Greenville, N.C., and most recently Kansas City. It's been a true blessing to work alongside such smart, talented and driven people. The news biz breeds a unique, crazy crowd and I'm absolutely a better person for it. I've also had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing some incredible people! It's been an honor to venture out into your communities and to be trusted with telling your stories of triumph, hardships and heartache. You all have taught me so much about humanity, and you have proven that kindness always wins in the midst of hatred. Thank you for your consistent love and support on my fan page and for tuning in each night! You have one more chance to see my last live report tonight at 9 and 10 o'clock! With lots of love, Katie P.S. For all those curious as to where life will take me next, I will continue to update this page with my adventures! So "stay tuned." ;)
