"I am an old woman now. The buffaloes and black-tail deer are gone, and our Indian ways are almost gone. Sometimes I find it hard to believe that I ever lived them.
My little son grew up in the white man's school. He can read books, and he owns cattle and has a farm. He is a leader among our Hidatsa people, helping teach them to follow the white man's road.
He is kind to me. We no longer live in an earth lodge, but in a house with chimneys, and my son's wife cooks by a stove.
But for me, I cannot forget our old ways.
Often in summer I rise at daybreak and steal out to the corn fields, and as I hoe the corn I sing to it, as we did when I was young. No one cares for our corn songs now.
Sometimes in the evening I sit, looking out on the big Missouri. The sun sets, and dusk steals over the water. In the shadows I see again to see our Indian village, with smoke curling upward from the earth lodges, and in the river's roar I hear the yells of the warriors, and the laughter of little children of old.
It is but an old woman's dream. Then I see but shadows and hear only the roar of the river, and tears come into my eyes. Our Indian life, I know, is gone forever."

Tina Turner's Love Story
For Erwin Bach and Tina Turner, it was love at first sight.
Tina Turner, a superstar, a legend, an unearthly force, and a source of inspiration for millions of people across the globe, died on Wednesday, May 24 at age 83. From selling out arenas to being inducted in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame to inspiring and paving the way for some of rock’s biggest stars, including Mick Jagger, Turner built an incredible career on authenticity, strength, perseverance, and continuous innovation.
TINA, the 2021 HBO documentary, showed the singer telling her own story and detailing her experience as a survivor of abuse and trauma from her ex-husband, Ike Turner, as well as her building a new life on confidence, fearlessness, and Buddhist beliefs. Along her journey to healing, Turner found the love of her life, her second husband, Erwin Bach, who was by her side for decades until her death on May 24, 2023. Though the German former music executive is a prominent voice in TINA, little is known about him. So below, we’re rounding up facts about Bach and his relationship with Turner.

When the pair first met, Erwin Bach was a label executive at the European branch of Tina Turner’s record label, EMI. He was sent by her longtime manager, Roger Davies, to pick her up from the airport. In the HBO documentary, Turner recalled instantly being drawn to him. “My heart went bah-boom,” she said. “It means that a soul has met, and my hands were shaking. And Roger said to me, ‘Tina, you ride with Erwin,’ and I wanted to go, ‘Yay!’”

She elaborated further, saying, “He was just so different, so laid back, so comfortable, so unpretentious, and that was the beginning of our relationship.”

Thirty-five years later, Erwin professed in TINA that the pair were still just as madly in love:
“It’s love, it’s something we both have for each other. I always refer to it as an electrical charge. I still have it. I still have it even though when I left her two hours ago, three hours ago, this morning, I still have that feeling. That feeling is still with me. It’s in my heart. I feel very warm about this.”
Erwin donated a kidney to Tina after she started experiencing severe health issues.
In her 2018 memoir, My Love Story, Turner revealed that two years earlier, increased high blood pressure was causing her kidneys to function at 20 percent and that they were “plunging rapidly.”
Recalling coming to grips with the possibility of death, Turner shared that it was Bach who stepped up and offered to donate one of his own kidneys to her rather than the star having to undergo dialysis—it was a gesture Turner once referred to as “the gift of life.”
Although the couple first met in the mid 1980s, Turner and Bach didn’t officially wed until 27 years later, in July 2013. The lavish wedding took place at their lake-side estate in Zurich, Switzerland, and was a star-studded affair that included the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Gayle King, David Bowie, Giorgio Armani, Bryan Adams, Roger Davies, Sade, and Eros Ramazzotti.
Turner wore a decadent Giorgio Armani dress embellished with Swarovski crystals and requested that all the women attendees wear white and male attendees wear black-tie evening wear. Following the nuptials, Turner revealed that she was in a constant state of Nirvana because of the joy she gets from her encouraging husband, Bach, whom she describes as “a force of nature in his own right, has never been the least bit intimidated by my career, my talents, or my fame.”
Bach briefly took up acting, landing a role in the 1999 film Ma***to amor: Demasiado tarde. He also aided in producing the 2021 HBO documentary film on his wife, TINA.
Though little is known about Bach’s personal life, he’s well known within the music industry. During his time in the business, he worked with acts such as Queen, Paul McCartney, Pink Floyd, and Radiohead as the managing director of EMI Recorded Music Switzerland.

Inseparable best friends ❤️
"Laura Failner is a SkyWest flight attendant. On July 7th, she witnessed this moment of kindness.
"I love looking for the good in the world! As I flew up to Washington today, I had this cute little 94-year-old lady get on my plane. She was frail and had a hard time getting back to her seat. There was a bit of confusion about where she was supposed to be seated. In first-class, this wonderful gentleman saw her plight and flagged me down. He said, "can you please get her and put her in my seat, and I will take hers." He walked back with me to get her and take her to first class. She was so touched. The woman gave him a big hug and said, "Never in my 94 years has someone done that for me. Thank you, young man." She had tears of gratitude. It was amazing how his thoughtful act changed the attitude of everyone on the flight. May we all look for the little things we can do to help others around us and show kindness. In this crazy world, let's all try to be the good."

“So this happened in Montana. I'm on my way to go to my interview this morning when I get pulled over by a police officer.
I am native American and my friend that was with me is black. Just saying.
Both brake lights decided to go out this time.
As he walked to the car and I was pulling out my stuff, he quickly said,
"Don't worry about pulling anything out. I just want you to know that your brake lights are out."
So I'm immediately upset, because I just got them replaced like last month.
So I explained to him how Firestone wants to charge me $600 just to run a test on the wiring of the car.
He looked at me like 😨 and told me to pop the trunk.
He checked the lights in the trunk and tapped them, but they didn't come on.
So he told me to pop the hood to check the relay box then asked me to get out to check the other one.
Then worked on the wiring under the dash.
He could've easily given me a ticket, but Officer Jenkins stepped out of officer role, and into mechanic role, and human role to make sure I was straight.
By the way HE FIXED THEM."
